And for the record kickboxing is a stupid sport if thats what you want to call it. I'd challange any kickboxer in the world to an endurance test vs Michael Phelps 400 meters anyday. Shit, most kickboxers couldn't even swim 25 meters without getting tired. lol
Kickboxing is an idiot sport. Standing there while somebody is trying to hit you in face takes complete and utter stupidity and is only for those people who could not (or will not) ever make it real sports.
If the person who started this thread has a problem with the Brian Johnson academy who are you to tell them different? Maybe he is nice to you but a prick to someone else.
Just an opinion.
Michael Phelps??? How about YOU!?! why don't YOU challenge a boxer to a test of endurance? Bro.... I'm sure you would get smoked. But good thinkin putting an Olympic athlete to the test against a normal dude who boxes in his free time. Sure that makes sense. You sir, are a dip shit!!

This topic is all an opinion. I'v been at aobj for coming on 5 years. And for 2 of those i was a miserable rotten child. and they had the choice to kick me out. tell me i could never come back, and still have me pay. They didn't. they worked with me, they tried their very hardest, and they suceeded through all their work with me especially Brian, they helped through the problems i was having at this time. But dont get me wrong they did not just focus on me. they had focused on all the other adults and childeren. from ages 4 to 84, they have patience for all! and for those who say kickboxing isn't a sport, isn't it just as famous, people train Very very hard at becoming good at what they want. they have a dream a passion. it IS way more exciting than other sports, it get people excited, in shape, and they can protect themselves.
This is complete crap

As a YOUNG, NEW KICKBOXER at The Academy of Brian Johnson, I can tell you this is complete shit. The trainers at the gym are not just some crapply trained kids but actual fighters who compete, and know what their talking about. Brian pays equal attention to those starting out and veterans alike. Basically everything this guy is talking about is competely false. Don't hate on my gym man, especially when you live in freakin Indiana and have never met Brian let alone ever been to the gym. Dumbass.

Maybe that place can help you with your spelling Whitney. By the looks of your post it seems you have a very limited education. Most of the people who do this kind of thing are fucking morons anyways. People who will probably end up working behind the counter at a McDonalds chain or go to prison for beating someone up in a bar fight.
Idiot.
Jesus, your an douchebag. Did you not see the part about him being a little kid? Goddamn.

Well if anyone knows anything about MMA they know Brian's is a joke!!! If you know nothing then Brian's seems great. He is great at talking but that is the extent of Brian Johnson. He is super fake. So now you tell me....look up Brian Johnson as a Six-Time World Sport Karate Champion. See what comes up........nothing but his website. hhmmmmmmmm....doesn't that make you think a little bit?? Where are all his trophies or medals.....wait he says he has given them to all his students. Are you kidding me????? what a load of crap. Then check with all the soilders he has ripped off at Ft. Lewis while over seas defending our country. Check on that. And I do believe I have seen his gym on Get Jesse News Report when he ripped off a single mom who came down with cancer and he did not refund her childrens membership even though she could hardly get out of bed.

I am curious about how you "heard" about Brian's place in IN? The down side of the internet is that it allows any uninformed person to anonymously post anything..

Additionally I question your knowledge of martial arts with your post of:

"Oh, and for the record. They may be able to kick everyone's asses but can they do it with a 45 pointed in their face?"

I trained and fought at Brian's after I served in 2nd Ranger Battalion while I was attending undergrad and grad school and had nothing but great experiences.

Further, your comments about contracts are completely ignorant.. ANY gym or martial arts school wants customers to sign a contract. Please name one that doesn't. Brian offers a range of contracts from month to month to a yearly contract. This is done at ALL similar business so that they can budget and forecast cash flows.

I implore you to explain your true motives for you post, or reveal your sources as to where you "heard" about Brian. Otherwise, just shut up....

Come on! All of these places have a contract. If they did not they would not survive.I attend and so does my daughter.I am 38 and my daughter is 9. Brian is walking the gym constantly. All of his instructors have above a blue belt. This is the first instructor that I have ever seen that is picky about what age he will take children, due to what he thinks the child is capable of learning as well as how much time the instructor will be pulled away.I was VERY impressed with this.MOST IF NOT ALL instructors in Lacey/Olympia were willing to take kids they were not able to train. Why? money, thats why. Give him a break!

You have to be a brainless slug to do this sort of sport if thats what you want to call it.

Belt color means shit.
People buy their way to the top by passing tests and in the end they are never as tough as they think they are. I've seen shit loads of people move up to high belt rankings. People who are overweight, slow and pretty much mentally challenged..people who you KNOW you could kick their ass on the street if you had to.
And suv is right whitney, before calling someone a "retard" you should learn to spell correctly because it won't help your cause in the least.
Everyone who automatically presumes that having a high belt rank means you can kick ass need to take a step back. The rank of your belt is based on your knowledge of the art, not your ability to kick ass.

I agree with the beginning of your post.

I have to disagree on whether kickboxing is a sport or not. Not all sports have to be completely endurance based. Football isn't endurance based, neither is baseball, Golf, Tennis, Bowling.

And by the way, don't get suckered into signing a contract like many of these places have. If these institutes were so great they would not need to force people to sign their lives away like that.
You do know that the reason for contracts is so that Brian doesn't have to remind people every single month to pay their bills.
I attend Twin Dragons in Aberdeen, WA. I have seen our coach tearing his hair out over people who are late on their payments or sometimes don't even pay the bill until he reminds them.

Well I looked all through the Get Jesse articles and couldn't find anything.

I have been practicing MMA for 3 years now and have been a fan since Gracie won the very first one, so I am more than just a casual fan.

I know Brian personally since my younger brother has competed at his events.

I'll tell you what since Brian doesn't instruct his students well enough then all of you who have dissed him can give him a call and get on the card for one of his next events. I mean since your all experts and bad asses then you should have no problem.
And please leave the .45 at home, don't bring it into the ring with you.
