Clerkerist, you forgot "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". Of course the word "queer" isn't offensive. Though, I prefer using it in it's original meaning [odd, unusual, unexpected] in casual conversation, just because.

When I was in high school,part of gym calss involved wrestling.I did like the sport,was learning,concentrating on the moves.Focused on it as much as anyother student.It was the before and after thoughts that were turning me on.When I knew I would be in tight body contacts.When actually doing the wrestling,only thinking about what moves to use to win.Those were the years I was learning how to keep separate my physical attractions-emotions aside.How I been going through life without others knowing me being gay,through those lessons self taught.I was very worried about the showers after the class,knowing I would be nude among the good looking guys,so worried,that I never became aroused.Learned self control.When I do see those Ultimate fight shows,it reminds me of those days,but now I can sit back and see that full body contact,the guys in those trunks,with everything else for skin to skin contact,see how it can be sexy,yet I remember that during a match,the concentration is on winning,not how much I was grabbing a guy.I just use my imagination now when I view it.

I watch the UFC all of the time. Some of those guys seem normal, but an awful lot of them seem to suffer from stunted emotional and intellectual growth. Like children in men's bodies. They sure act like children.

UFC is nothing more than the ultimate fantasy of prepubescent schoolyard bullies everywhere, not only do they get to try to beat the snot out of someone else without getting in trouble for it, someone actually will pay them too. It's no wonder the "sport" attracts "athletes" whose emotional maturity stalled out in their glory days of being twelve, because it's a twelve year old bully's idea of a dream job. What they don't get is that now they are grown men and the bullies have turned to beating the snot out of each other half naked, it visually plays out as as little more than softcore gay sporn. Kind of a win/win if you ask me...

There are actually very educated, respectful, and polite people who compete in MMA.

For instance Chuck Lidell has a degree in accounting.

Rich Franklin was a high school math teacher.

Many of them come from traditional martial arts in which respect for your opponent is a requirement not an option.

I have been training in MMA for 3 years now and just had my first fight back in July. I respect my family and friends. I do not boast about being a fighter, in fact some people don't find out I am a fighter until a friend or family member informs them. I don't party or drink heavily. Also I am studying to become a physical therapist at this time.

All I can say is every martial artist respects another martial artist. We don't need to focus on issues about sexual preferences. The only thing that we have to focus on is the essence of the art.
