As for the prison statistics shawn brought up;
remember the original post that started this thread? Go back and read it again,.. once profiling stops the cultural focus and widens to include everyone, the statistics begin to swing toward a truer representation of crime data.

It doesn't. All of us do that. It is completely normal and acceptable to choose to associate with those that you feel most comfortable with. However, to simply hate because someone is different is the issue and it is the problem. Folks with cancer are different than I, but I don't hate them. Astronomers are different, as are baseball players, and homosexuals, and politicians,(I'll admit that I don't like politicians very much though), but I cannot understand, nor advocate the outright hate for another simply because of race, creed, religion, etc. Most people, children and adults, are cool with that. Observe children in a group. They don't know to hate another until they are taught to. Usually by a parent, but often by peers, who were also taught to hate, usually by a parent, and the cycle continuously perpetuates. That is likely the most significant problem that we, as a nation, and we, as a race, need to irradicate. I'll assure you that when I fall into cardiac arrest I'll have no problems at all with the black, female, lesbian, baseball player, council member, breast cancer survivor that saves my life and I'll graciously and sincerely love and appreciate her for the rest of my days.
