I do not know of any good ones.NDL is not too bad except low paying. Summit is pretty good except for too many highway breakdowns. Mr. "P" have rude dispatchers but pay well for East Coast.

NDL and Summitt (it's spelled with two t's) both require the truck to be parked at their terminals instead of going home with the driver. Although they claim they don't slip seat, chances are high your truck will be taken out by someone else while you're home (I pulled for both of them at one time, so I know what I'm talking about).
I haven't pulled for NDL for a number of years, but the last time I talked to them they still require drivers to be on call to take a run anytime you have hours, regardless of your home time schedule.
Summit doesn't like it if you quit. When you do quit Summitt, you will find they are 'creative' when it comes to thinking up negative things to say about you on your DAC.
Dave Summitt (the owner) fired the reefer mgr, dry van mgr, and safety mgr all in one day, so things are subject to change there on a daily basis. Company policy is subject to change on a daily basis as well. They say they pay detention, but they often find excuses not to.
I never worked for Mr. P, but I talked to them about pulling for them until they said their regional drivers slip seat the OTR trucks when the OTR drivers go home.
Top Gun is still a pretty good outfit if you know anything about reefers and like running out west and back. Leo O'Danial is the owner, and he's pretty decent, but he doesn't pay very well and the last time I pulled for him he didn't pay layover or detention. Although it's good miles each way, you can get stuck making multiple pics on produce loads out west that can cost you two or three days sitting for free.
Good luck with whoever you find, but I haven't found too many good outfits in this area or anywhere lately.

If you are young and have a good record, go Union.
They pay well and have wonderful retirement plans.
Otherwise, either J. B. Hunt--they have fairly good runs. Other than that, go to Indidanapolis. From what I hear, the better companies are there.
One of the main problems with Summitt is highway breakdowns. The maint. is very poor on their trucks. Super Service also has a place in Clarksville but somebody is leaving wheels lose and creating a real hazard.

I am aware of Mister P and Summitt. They are trying to put each other out of business and both are about to succeed.

J. B. Hunt is really pretty good. The pay is good. But be careful of the PPG account. Around forty percent of the drivers that goes on it are involved in a preventable accident within their first thirty days. They deliever to a lot of very old warehouses and downtown areas are appropriate for big 53-foot trailers. It can mess up a good driving record fast.

My wife and I (driving as a team) worked for NDL and we were just TERMINATED for choosing to go to our daughter's wedding versus running another load for NDL. If we had ran the load it would have caused us to missed the ceremony. Time off for this wedding had been requested at least a month in advance,it was mentioned to our dispatcher as a reminder before we went out and we were assured that we would be back home in time. Long story short if you have family avoid NDL.

I am seeking former J. B. Hunt drivers that have been detained far from home for from one to three days because of minor incidents. This amounts to false imprisonment and I am also seeking a law firm that will file a class action lawsuit against J. Boy. I am also awaiting a reply from federal authorities.
