I had a great halloween nite at a friends her husband dressed up walking around on stilts was 10 feet tall with mask and all!!I sat there just loving it plus they had a fog machine and more!!BUT their was so many kids come threw it was GLORIOUS!!!And to watch them with the MAN!!Many parents said that their kids couldnt wait to find that house!!Because he has done that for more than a few years!!So that was great a TRADITION for alot of kids!!!Thats what its all about!!MEMORIES of childhood etc...

those are things we DIDN'T have .
but what we DID have was far better
we had respect for our parents
we had discipline in our lives .
we had work to do and we knew it .
we had homework and we did it .
we had love to give
we had family time we had game night
we had dinner every night together
we had breakfast in the morning together
we had a mom and a dad that were still together
.
so take your cells and computers and everything else today . cus i think id rather have what we had ' we had EVERYTHING .
i grew up then... my mom drank and cheated, my dad just cheated... from 4thgrade up , latch key kids taking care of ourselves. bro and sis all grew up strangers, still feel like strangers around one another. lots and lots of broken promises... yea, those were the days. my kids got it tenX better. i will not play victem and live in the past thinking that it was better somehow because of the lack of technology. thats bullshit

Hey, you all have about made me cry. I lived in the germantown area(Lydia St). I moved from there about 15 yrs ago to Glasgow Ky I Like it here but, there is nothing like looking back at all the evening's after dinner all the kids from blocks around came over to are street and we played batball, kick the can, frozen catchers, and some time kissen catchers.Durning the early hrs of the day we all just road bikes or skated but, when the 4:30 wistle blew we all had to be home cause are moms had dinner ready. At night me my 5 sisters and mom and Dad would sit and watch T.V Money didnt come easy for mom & dad but sometimes Mom would give one of us some money and we all pick what kind of can drink and candy bar we wanted and she would right it down and one of us would walk to the coner beer joint and get the stuff thats about all it took to make us happy in those days a coke and candy bar. We didn't the bottle but I sure do remember the chip gut Charley's chips a man came to the door and you told him what kind of chips you wanted and he would have them in big cans you gave him your order for next week and he would bring them the next week and so on. Well it sure was fun talking about the good old days just wish We had a cristle ball that showed the past so are kids would know just how much they have missed out on and how thought full people were of one another and not just out for their self. Well you all take care and never stop thinking of the good old days.

I Want To Be A Kid Again.

It was normal to have 2 or 3 friends.

Decisions were made by "eeny-meeny-miney-mo. "

"Race" issue meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

"Money" issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "Monopoly."

It was magic when dad would "remove" his thumb.

Unbelievable that dodgeball wasn't an Olympic event.

Nobody was prettier than mom.

Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true.

"oly-oly-oxen free" made perfect sense.

Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare."

Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles.

Saturday morning cartoons weren't 30min. ads for action figures.

War was a card game.

Water baloons were the ultimate weapon.

Baseball cards in the spokes transformed any bike into a motorcycle.

Taking drugs meant orange-flavored chewable aspirin.

Ice cream was considered a basic food group.

Older siblings were the most tormentors but, also the fiercest protectors.

Not my words, do not know who they belong to but, I remember every one of them.

Remember when you were a kid and if you dared utter the sentence, "I'm bored," your parents would find something for you to do, such as specialized household and yard chores? Then you made darn sure you utilized your imagination and found something to do on your own to not receive extra work to relieve your boredom. ;)

oh yeah... I remember...
And if I was whiney, I was told "turn it off or I will give you something to cry about."

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Gemini

Grit your teeth as Mars turns retrograde, as things annoyingly don't go to plan. Certain people are going out of their way to be difficult. Is an older relative throwing the proverbial weight around and telling you what to do? The greater the gap between your ages or social status, the more irritated you'll be.
