Amoebas too do evolve. But we know about evolution that evolved species are just one of a branch of the species they evolve from: unless competition for the same resources squelches the previous species, both the evolutionary substrate (the from) and the evolutionary outcome (the to) generally continue to coexist, naturally.

That's why, although we evolved from chimpanzees, we're here, and so are chimpanzees!

#1: It's already way too easy for a church to lose tax-exempt status. This is non-concerning to me, as a church will either speak and abide by the truth, or it won't; if it won't stand for the Word of God (if that's it's principle doctrine, that is)and it concedes to an alternative point-of-view only to keep its tax-exemption (not because it REALLY believes that way); then I say they deserve it.

#2: Forcing a church to perform homosexual marriages, when it is directly against their bylaws and doctrine is as absurd as me trying to force you to renounce homosexuality. If it offends you so much when people do that, then don't turn around and try to same thing to someone else YOU personally disagree with.

In addition. the church at large does not represent all Christians, as your blind hateful sentiments do not represent all of homosexual people's opinions either. And equality under the law does not mean you can force a church to engage in actions it considers detrimental to its flock... there's a little thing called 'separation of church and state' that stops that. In addition, there are other places to get married such as Justice of Peace etc., and there are also a number of churches willing to perform homosexual marriages, even now.

BTW: You might want to watch it with the all-caps; people might think you're PATRIOT coming out of the closet:-)

If you expect 'Bible Thumpers' to have facts available when they speak on certain matters, even facts outside of the Bible, would you please do those you are arguing against the same favor? You may not agree with Rex, but he's providing the evidence that lies behind his words as accurately as he can. You reply with vast amounts of vindictive hatred founded with a great deal of erroneous expository that wouldn't hold water in a perfect glass much less here. And for someone from a group of people who are so often negatively stereotyped, you certainly aren't doing much to help them out, either.

Bible thumpers are people who have been brainwashed all their lives or maybe just "Reborn". the Bible was wrote by men and misinterperereted over the years. It is just a book. The meaning has been lost over the last 2000 years. Use what is in your heart and live your life as it should be used. Love your fellow man. It does'nt matter if your gay or straight, just live your life and get on as well as you can until you die. We all will get there someday.

Well thanks man, trust me your comment is not lost on me.

What many people fail to understand is that there is a huge segment of gay men who understand that first and foremost, they are men - and being gay is a secondary characteristic of their personalities. I grew up having a lot of positive male role models - and as such, a great deal of my personality is centered around the traditional concept of "manhood" - I am self-sufficient, resourceful, I belch loudly in public, enjoy playing and watching sports... but can just as easily sew you new curtains, cook a delicious seven-course meal and decorate your house as I can rebuild your transmission, put an addition on your house or hunt deer for a glorious return of bambi burgers. I can start a campfire with tinder and string and know intimately the workings of a 30-ott 6. I've had my motorcycle cert on my license since the day I got my driver's license - I took both tests on the same day down at the DMV in southern Indiana where I was born and raised.

Being a man is far more significant to me than being gay. That doesn't for a moment mean that either being a man or being a gay is NOT who I am. I can accept the truth and responsibility of both roles. And for that I believe I am truly blessed.

I have counted among some of my closest straight friends the folks that were flabbergasted to find another man who acted LIKE a man - and yet happened to be gay. It's an honor to me to challenge people's preconceptions. Like I said before, it's easy to identify gay folk who act the way you have come to expect them to. But gay men and women have been hiding in the woodwork for all of recorded history - it's only now that society has come to accept it openly enough to let us "regular guys" who happen to be gay to come forward and be honest about who they are. Additionally, it's only through the advent of the "bear community" - a rapidly growing subculture of the gay community - that regular guys that happen to be gay have been able to come forward and be recognized.

It might intrigue you to know that for the better part of a decade - being a "man's man" with a daughter and the attitudes I have - that I was rejected by even the gay community that I have come to know and love. I've been banned from gay bars here in Chicago for decking little "bois" who have disrespected me or my friends. I have little tolerance for disrespectful and spiteful bitches - whether they're gay or part of the heterosexual camp - some of whom are active participants in this very forum..(you know who you are, don't you...)

I apologize in advance if I'm being too blunt or spiteful myself, I had friends over for a barbeque tonight to celebrate the completion of my week-long home improvement project, I've had quite a few Jack and Cokes and my share of MGD, so I might be a touch more blunt than I normally would in a forum such as this...

In any event - I hope you and others understand - that the vast majority of gay folk are just regular men and women who struggle like you do, pay taxes like you do (in fact, more since we can't claim our spouses as such), struggle to pay for insurance (since work won't cover my partner as a spouse, so I pay it out of pocket), pay insane gas prices, bills, rent or mortgage, and the like. We're really - JUST LIKE YOU... the only difference is that we love and care for someone who is the same sex. Can you fault us for that?

Oddly enough, I think a vast majority of folks could really be served by such a radical idea. If only the heterosexuals of the world knew how hard it was to BE gay - in such an adverse atmosphere - perhaps they would come to understand how painful it can be to have to continually justify who and what they are and have always been to people who will never truly understand what it feels like to be this way.

Don't mistake me - the struggle I have is not with myself... I know who I am. I know what that means. Couldn't everyone spend a few moments considering the fact that maybe - just maybe - that if it weren't for the fact that we just ARE who we ARE - that we wouldn't feel so passionately about the issue?
