The 53% of voters who voted "yes" are to blame.

Oh, and don't forget the catholic church & their pedophile bishop.

We have yet to convince the majority of people that we're not some scary freaks of nature coming after their kids.

I agree with Sheeple.......the blame for the loss in Maine falls directly on the Catholic Church, NOM and Frank Schubert and his group for putting out lies and for interfering with the rights of others.

We may have setbacks.....but eventually WE WILL PREVAIL and it won't necessarily be at the ballot box.

As one article that I read today stated, "All they did was kick the can of Gay marriage on down the road a bit". It will come, sooner than later, but it will come.

It was close, but the churches definitely made a difference with their hate and fear propaganda, and the money they spent to scare people.
Now we can really see how they 'love' us. They will probably invite us to join them now if we'll only become like them.

Okay People. We can win this thing if we stop asking/begging and start demanding and attacking. We answer their attack ads with pleas for reason and truth. It never works. It does not work for politicians and it does not work for us. PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING! For one of two reasons: they want it to be true or fear that it is. It is the fear that they have been using against us and I suggest we fight fire with fire.
Liken the modern hard-religious right as modern-day crusaders/jihadists. Tell the people that the aim of these groups (which it is) is to return America and the world to the Dark Ages when Christianity ruled everyone. Tell them that they want to recriminalize homosexuality, illegalize abortion and divorce, illegalize pornography, monitor and regulate the internet/TV/Radio and declare America to be a Christian Nation run by Christians and ruled by Biblical law.
“So if you want America to become like Iran and Afghanistan, where religion rules over the masses in enforced theistic laws, then vote for repression.”
“If however you want to continue to live in a free country that protects its citizens and its churches by keeping state and church separate, then vote for equality for all Americans.”
“ Don’t let them use our precious children to scare you. Their claims of homosexual sex being taught to small children are all lies, meant to scare you into voting for repression. They are using your children against you. Exploiting your kids to fuel their ideology of hate. They hate us, pure and simple. Everyone knows it. Don’t let them use your children to promote hate in America.”
Basic idea here is we need to make the masses MORE afraid of religious zealots than homosexuals. If we can do that, we can win.

I lay the blame on the gap in the law that allows out-of-state non-profits to use tax-free money to interfere with the local and state-level free election process.

Are we going to allow the mormon mafia in Utah to purchase every statewide election in the other 49 states; using tax-exempt money financed by the taxpayers?

Its time for Congress to start seizing some mormon mafia assets before voting in America dissolves into chaos.

I wondered at the time if using out-of-state hate machines was legal. I already knew it was neither moral or ethical.

How did they vote in Collinsport, Maine? How did the residents of Collinwood vote, i.e. Barnabas Collins, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, Maggie Evans, Victoria Winters, Angelique Collins, Quentin Collins? They seem pretty progressive and like they'd be gay friendly.

Yes but I watched the re-runs on Sci-Fi in the early 90s. I own the whole series on DVD including the short-lived remake series. I wish they'd released the movies on DVD. I have those two on VHS.

I am glad it was defeated, the homosexual agenda is a atheistic racket that is trying to destroy the very moral fabric of this nation.

Democracy prevailed, the people had their say, now you all can quit your whining.

Boo hoo hoo, we lost in Maine, and California, and just about everywhere else the people were given the freedom to vote.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Scorpio

If you've been surrounded by people during the past few days you welcome the chance to have some time to yourself today. It's a wonderful excuse to do something really indulgent in private, such as scoff a whole box of chocolates while watching a favourite film on TV. But make sure you destroy all the evidence before everyone else comes home!
