We are not allowed these rights, we are granted them by God. Completely false. Those rights are not "endowed". Those rights are fought and paid for by the blood of every single person who has defended this country. If those rights were "inalienable" and came from the source you claim, they would be recognized worldwide, without question, and nothing could remove them.

I do not find that hypothesis either necessary or sufficient for my spiritual beliefs and doubt that you are so firm in yours if you cannot tolerate me in mine. Actually that is the entire reason there is such a push to ban Same-Sex marriage. They do not actually believe in their claims of "sin" and "punishment" otherwise once they had spoken their piece they would be satisfied to allow others to do as they will and let their "deity" do as he sees fit. As it stands now they are no better than those of the middle ages who, if they could, would burn, hang, torture, and kill others who dared to refuse to follow their proclamations made in the name of their deity.

It has no more religious connotation than someone perfunctorily saying "bless you" when another person sneezes. If that is the best you can come up with, you're truly ignorant.

All you stated is that you believe in your religion. Fine. I never stopped you nor would I but you and your narrow minded rants attempt to stifle the gay community by stating they are 'sinners' or whatever crap you have. I believe in God too and don't think He hates gays. You live in Sacramento? I live in the Pocket area....let's get together. You'll find I have a family, live well, have great friends and allow others to believe in their beliefs and in this case lifestyles as long as it hurts no one else. You...you want a Nazi state?

Stick to sending the religious pyramid scheming evangelical con men on Sunday morning extravagant amounts of your money so they can live fat and leave the rest of the population alone.

To have homosexual behavior accepted would mean having to supplant these standards and beliefs with something that is strange, unknown and foreign to the traditions and values upon which America and Western civilization in general has been built. Why are so many people AFRAID of what they don't understand?????? This would effectively mean a return to pagan culture and the disunity this implies. This is NOT the place for that particular religious discussion!!!

When one's reproductive years are over, it's usually time to go. So you're saying that all women should "go" after menopause?? When our "reproductive years are over"?? So all children would not have a grandmother over the age of what, 55-60?? Surely you see how stupid that sounds!?!?!?!?

How typical.......try to prove a point, get retaliation that makes sense, then back peddle with more weak points......... The old "oh ya....." syndrome. How sad and tired........

Roberto wrote: <quoted text> Same-sex marriage is still relatively new so the effects may not be seen for many years still to come. Just like what I'm sure they said about abolishing slavery, women's vote, and inter-racial marriage!! THEY happened anyway, and are still going strong! Less and less opposite-sex couples are marrying, out-of-wedlock pregnancies are the rule and rising, birth rates are declining, and those populations that have strong family values like the Muslim immigrants are in the ascendency. And these things are bad WHY??? I believe it's been proven that id doesn't take a MARRIAGE to make a baby.(just certain anatomical parts) I think that what you are describing is called PROGRESS! NOTHING stays the same forever!!!!! Breeding is one means by which one civilization supplants another, and mutilating the institution that sanctifies the procreative relationship can only give an advantage to other civilizations that still honor the traditional institution. Again, it doesn't take a marriage to BREED.(as you put it) That IS the mentality of IRRESPONSIBLE PROCREATION (as YOU put it). If procreation were to be the demise of the human specie, it would be because of IRRESPONSIBLE PROCREATION! That underscores how vital this institution is to opposite-sex couples because marriage strives to make procreation a responsible act. Undermining marriage the way same-sex marriage would such that it leads to the consequences one sees happening in the Netherlands will only increase reproductive disorder. I hat to break it to you, but irresponsible procreation goes on every day! All over the world. Take a look in the high schools and colleges in (for example) America. Take a look at our welfare system! Does anyone know that statistics on the average number of children unwed mothers have? It has absolutely nothing to do with friendships like gay love relationships. But thanks for helping me make my case. No, Thank YOU!!

These religeous nutters that come into these rooms holding a cross like and umbrella fighting sideways rain and screaming 'Praise the LAWD!' when it comes to this type of debate need to be canned. The don't recognize it's the freedoms we're allowed in this country in the first place that ensures their right to practice the religion of their choice and not have to wear a glitter Buddha robe humming in a circle. The same freedoms that allow us to debate gay marriage among other things and the possibilities that if something is deemed right then it is moved forward. Condemning vice such as homosexuality and trying to persuade people to turn from their wrongful ways IS the practice of a religion. and this is constitutionally protected and there is nothing you can do about it. Christians and Muslims and Buddhist and Hindus and all other religions have that constitutionally protected right to condemn homosexuality even if it is legal behavior. It's like trying to get people to stop smoking or gambling or drinking. All those are legal behavior as well, yet they are still open to condemnation. No different with homosexuality! Sorry.
