The service was slow. The food was lukewarm at best. What is that smell coming out of the trash can by the soda machine? The view into the kitchen and office was disgusting. Salad arrived after the Cheese Ravioli that took 25 minutes. The garlic bread was soggy from sitting in the sauce. Asked 3 times about salad before I got it.
20 bucks for lunch. I'll never go back.

Simply marvelous! The appetizers are fabulous. The Mavi salad is to die for. The pasta sauces are very good and the service is fast and friendly. Excellent, excellent value and food! We eat there at least 2x a month.

Our first time to Mavi (the one in Belton). We'll definitely be going back. Great food, fast and friendly service, generous portions, clean restaurant. What more could you ask for?

Do you own a competing Italian Restaurant? Your post seems unreal. I've been there SEVERAL times and it has always been terrific with great service. The food does take about 5-10 minutes sometimes, but that's because they are cooking it. It's possible you went on a bad day, but nobody I know has ever had bad service there. Our whole family loves Mavi!! They have been so wonderful and accomodating (or son is a vegetarian. The food has always been excellent. We love it so much that we are having my husband's 30th birthday there.
5 stars!!!

I attribute the negative review simply to the Law of Averages; no restaurant can be perfect every time. But my family and I have eaten at Mavi in KC-North about 5 or 6 times - both dine-in and carry-out - and the food's been great every time. Sure, there may be a 10+ minute wait for your food, but as mentioned before it's because they're cooking it fresh. If you're looking for good Italian food that's a step up from Fazoli's but not that much more ex$pen$ive, definitely give Mavi a chance. And if their service is having a bad day, give them another chance later. :^)
