Papa Vito's pizza comes to O'Fallon

“We want to be here for the kids and for families who want to go out for dinner together.”

The trademark sweet pizza sauce and Italian salad dressing at Papa Vito's in Waterloo has arrived in downtown O'Fallon.

In September, Scott Kaiser, of O'Fallon, opened the second Papa Vito's at the corner of State and Lincoln streets.

He liked pizza he had eaten at the Waterloo mom-and-pop shop owned by Gerry and Barbara Geoppo. About a year ago, he had a pizza pie-in-the-sky dream.

'I saw that the space in O'Fallon was for lease while I was driving around with my kids in between basketball games,' said Scott, 32, who is the food services director for FKG Oil-Motormart franchising. 'I came back that Monday to work out something for the lease.' Read more

It is the greatest Pizza, Roast Beef Sandwiches and hot wings you will have anywhere. I just hope it has the same quality in O'Fallon as it does in Waterloo. I have been a personal friend of the Geoppos for a very long time and anyone that knows them knows that Barb is the secret in the recipe.

Tonight was my first visit to Papa Vito's. While the service was great, the ambiance fun and casual, and the prices mostly reasonable, the pizza itself left something to be desired.

It's all a matter of preference, but the crust was too thin for my tastes and the sauce was very scant. There is only ONE type of crust (EXTREMELY thin); patrons should at least be given one other choice. I didn't try any of the appetizers, but the garlic cheese bread delivered to our neighboring table smelled delicious.

It's pretty tight quarters inside, so I'm not sure how comfortably accessible it would be for someone in a wheelchair or with a walker. There's a courtyard on the side of the building for when the weather warms up, and this MAY provide more room for someone with accessibility (or claustrophobia!) concerns.

I'm glad O'Fallon has another choice for pizza now aside from the chain places in town. Papa Vito's was pretty busy tonight (Saturday), so if you go on a weekend night, it's possible you might have to wait a couple of minutes for a table. I'd eat there again, but next time I'm asking for extra sauce!

Haven't been there since last summer. The pizza & salads were great, but the the service wasn't.
Waitress didn't check if needed anything or came around. All 3 times it was like this. One time we ordered the salad & all the indigredents weren't on it. We asked the waitress, she checked & said they were out of some of them. She should have told us when we ordered it.
We just do carryouts now.

The pizza is great.
The delivery is terrible. We were told it would be 45/50 minutes. Finally after 1 hour 25 minutes & a second phone call it came.
I agree with jer above the service was bad the times we went dine, so we don't do that anymore.

Sorry, but the Waterloo store is exactly the same for deliveries as well as carry out. The place is so small you can't do anything but chose one of these options. I don't mind waiting for good food, just be honest when stating a delivery time or when the food will be ready for p/u. The food is great just really poor service!
