I see Big Daddy's has a sign stating a buffet is coming soon. When a buffet is available, if the advertised price is low enough, we will try it once. If there is an ample choice of foods including salad materials, and we don't get sick from eating there, we will likely be pleased enough to return. Here's hoping they get it right this time since the location is convenient for us. We sure do miss the Golden Corral.

My husband and I have been regular customers at Big Daddys since they opened. We love the atmosphere and cleanliness that is always consistant. Unfortunately that is all that is. We were in the routine of eating breakfast at Big Daddys almost every day. I cant begin to tell you how much we enjoyed it. The friendly feeling we got was such a pleasant way to start the day. They had the nicest cashier on the morning shift, we honestly went to see her. She made everyone feel so welcome. She introduced all of the morning regulars to each other and over time it became a morning meeting place for a group of new friends. We brought some of our friends so they could experience Live Oak hospitality at its finest. we all knew the cashiers day off and if we missed a day we made sure it was when she wouldnt be working. We have seen her welcome new comers to town and introduce them to us regulars. They told us they felt so welcome and that is why they moved to Live Oak because of friendly people. I am sorry to say Debbie isnt there any more. Our morning crew was in disbelief when we found out the news. We continued going for breakfast for a while but it was the consensus among us regulars that the place just wasnt the same. I am surprised how one person can make such a difference in a simple breakfast but she sure did. If you ride by the restaurant now you will see quite a few less cars in the morning. Most of our gang has found a new hang out. We see our new friends that we met at Big Daddys occasionally in town and only a couple of them say they still eat there occasionally, they also say it will never be the same. If anyone knows where Debbie the cashier from Big Daddys is still working please write a comment letting us know. We would love to see her just to know she is ok. We have no idea why she is gone but if getting her back is an option for the owners it would definately benefit their business. Debbie we miss you!!!!!!!!

Really - simply because it was unclear as to which place you were referring. I thought it was either Ole Times or Golden Corral(per gator44 post), wasn't sure.

If the restaurants food is cold, raw, making people sick then why doesn't someone call the health department?

Well I finally decided to give Big Daddy's a try and see if it was as bad as everyone said it was. This was the worst place I have ate at in a long time. They had what they called a buffet for 14.95. What they have is a person behind a glass putting food on a plate as you try to yell to him what you want. The service was okay, but the food was very cold and bland. Between me and my wife the bill was 34.00 and was no way worth it. I should have heeded the warnings. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Behind the baptist church west of liveoak on hwy 90, wainrights built some houses in that area, during construction they bulldozed an abandoned black cemetery and built the houses there,I was told this by an eyewitness, I put this here before but it seems to have been deleted somehow, hope someone sees it before it goes away again.

In reply to "I Know a Secret" - I had heard rumors about such a possible incident a long time ago, just rumors. If such a travesty did occur, an eye-witness needs to come forward with a full disclosure of details.

The Food is so Delicious! The Service is Wonderful. Of Course They Will Have A Few Things To Work Out When They First Open, Well, Evidently - They Worked Them Out, Because The Best Place To Eat Within a Fifty Mile or More Radius is Big Daddy's. The Food - The Service - The Atmosphere - Couldn't Be Better!!!! Thank You (Wainrights) For Opening The Best Restaurant in The World!!!! Martha Rae

True but not sure if that is the location, because a house is standing today that is built on top of graves. The house is haunted.

Big Daddy's has lousy food that gave me food poisoning and lousy service. The buffet looks likes something the hogs wouldn't even eat.

I just ate there for the first time today. Steak was overcooked and tough but flavored well. Everything else was good, service was great.

Vist to Big Daddys was one of the worst in my 60 yrs eating out. Ordered a rib/pork combo, and when delivered rib[5]and several slices of pork with a few fries. Ribs were raw, returned to kitchen, several minutes passed and dinner returned with [2]of the original still under cooked and less sliced pork.Com ment was they served me to much originaly and the under cooked ribs were done by there standards.

As for giving big daddy's another shot. I went there with my family and they served my 4 year old raw chicken. Which he got sick at the table. All they offered in return was a free appetizer. Second time took forever, and the third time I ordered there my steak was burnt and it was $20
