City Commission Proposes to Halt permits for nonDomestic animals

Can you imagine the city oif emporia, having chicken coopes on every block?? The smell of chicken shit and beleive me they dont eat all of it when they are making eggs, is as stinking what ibp was when it was slaughtering beef. There will be all kinds of begging people who ill say they can raise the chinkens for eggs, food kids pets, a learning experience, they will come up with everything to try to convience the commission, and you know what, the fucking sorry commission will approve it . commission's the city will look like a mexican town, of a vieteneese village, is that what you really want? and what will be the fine if i run over a damn chicken on the street, because it was a pet of some damn kids. how long will it lay in the street before its completely flat , yep, the cops of animal control does do that type of service"picking up dead animals on the streets. wake the hell up and leave the law the way it is, just because one dumb ass wants chickens, it no reason to consider it. chickens smell!!!!!!!!

They called this halt only because a resident who I personally know who lives barely within the city limits wanted to get the proper permit. He read the requirements, applied, built and measured everything to specifications and then was turned down because someone decided that they don't like giving permits. There are several residents well within town who have had chickens for a few years with no permit and they have never been cited or had their chickens confiscated. The commission didn't know about them because they never applied, so it was assumed that offering permits didn't matter until they actually saw an application. This person who wants to do things right for the good of all gets the shaft. They won't resume permits and no one is asking them to, so chill.

The problem with allowing chickens in town isn't really the chickens at all. It's all those damned dogs that people allow to run around like they own the place. If someone has chickens, their neighbors dogs will kill the chickens and then there will have to be a dog ban so chicken owners won't have to worry about irresponsible dog owners getting all upset when the the upset chicken owners start killing loose dogs. It's a cat conspiracy I tell you. Cats are trying to get rid of dogs by introducing fowl into the fray. It's a good thing that people intervened. It could have gotten ugly.

Cats are maniacal creatures, alright. ;)
