But Islamabad’s police have suddenly found cause to turn their attention to the capital’s poshest eateries in an effort to enforce a patchily applied, decades-old law forbidding people from eating or drinking in public during the fasting month of Ramadan ...

from jihadwatch:

"Members of what pass for Islamabad’s cafe society said they could not remember anything like it. The manager of Gloria Jeans, a nearby restaurant, said he had never even read the Ramadan law until the police arrived. He has now placed a sign in the restaurant saying it is only 'open to the communities not observing the fast of Ramadan ...'"

... but in the wake of the Arab Spring, those communities best not observe Ramadan in public where they can be seen.

Isn't it odd that a modern day religion has to force people to worship and join in the festivals.

What kind of virtue is it if they are forced by law to follow these 'religious' laws?

... the only thing modern about islam is its weaponry; its ideology is strictly stone age.

What's this got to do with Pakistan and the right to practice religion in one's own way?

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Pisces

It's a great day for fixing anything that needs attention now. That might be a dripping tap, a sick child, an unpaid bill or a miffed partner. However, you'll do particularly well if you need to sort out something connected with official or joint finances or red tape. You might be asked to help someone deal with a bureaucratic problem, especially if they're elderly.
