After Pizza.com sold for the amazing number of 2.6 million last week, the undisclosed owners of Pizza.net decided to put up the domain name for Auction to see what they could get, and so far that is a lot!
Pizza.net hit over 1 million yesterday on GoDaddy.com and the auction ends this Friday. Bloggers and bidders are speculating if the reserve price will be met-and if it is, this could be a record breaking sale for .net domain names around the world.
Pizza.net is offering the domain name, website and the 'Prior Art' it has for the Microsoft Patent on Pizza Zip Code searches filed August 30, 2000. In addition, Pizza.net has over 60,000 pizza restaurants listed and has been offering pizza searches by zip code since 1998. The website, database and prior art could make this domain name very valuable to one lucky bidder.
This is one auction that is certainly going to be exciting to watch! This could conceivably change the way people look at .net domain names and forge the way for many others to turn a profit in this hot domain after market.
Go Pizza.net - we are rooting for you!
