It is called an accurate, factual, correct poll. It happens more often than not depending on whose poll.
OK, I'll concur but like you say "it happens more often" depending on whose goal it is as well.....and whose agenda that poll serves...

Really? Is this all you gleaned from the video?

Satire and also truth. If you read the buybull, everything in Betty's video is written there! It is so ridiculous that even satire cannot compete. Did you fail to notice the scriptures?

Imagine the people who believe such things and who are not ashamed to ignore, totally, all the patient findings of thinking minds through all the centuries since the Bible was written.

And it is these ignorant people, the most uneducated, the most unimaginative, the most unthinking among us, who would make themselves the guides and leaders of us all; who would force their feeble and childish beliefs on us; who would invade our schools and libraries and homes.

We will have to hire many more cops and build many more jails....It will cost more to end welfare and food stamps by double atleast then keeping it...

Political polls & statistics are designed for one reason, to influence or persuade public opinion.
If I release a poll that says a majority of Americans support amnesty in a location that has a chance of actually supporting that policy, it will immediately spur public opinion in a way that can muster up support that's against such policy. It's that famous "reverse psychology" game at its finest.
So you see, political polls & statistics are to be taken with a grain of salt.
Good polls are invaluable for getting at public concerns, depending on whose poll. Where most miss the boat is not understanding the methodology of a particular poll.

In the example you gave I'd look for how you did the poll, the variables, all of methods you used.

Some polls have a left or right wing bent. Good example is Rasmussen, who from the start is conservative and his polls reflect his persuasion. His polls, like most must be seen in comparison to other polls that have less axe to grind.

If all social programs were ended, health care cancelled, and the population left to fend for itself... It is more likely that - those with anything of value will become targets. The rich will have to hire the military to protect themselves from the people since the general population is armed.

I doubt there will be any sympathy for the powerful - like what occurred during the French Revolution. "Off with their heads"

Betty's satire works because it ignores the context of the Scriptures quoted, the cultural climate, traditions and superstitions, allegory, metaphors, and what is really meant in those Scriptures. In other words, Betty appeals to ignorance and those who will not study to learn the truth. Sound bites without substance.

Some of best satire on Christians goes to the real world practices of not keeping the Sabbath, celebrating the pagan days of Christmas and Easter, the ignoring of the Holy Days, committing adultery, bearing false witness, idol worship, wrongly claiming some go to Heaven when they die, claiming some are saved in this world, all unGodly things not Scripture based that many millions of professing Christians do and proclaim on a regular basis.

That dog won't hunt.

The Bible is supposedly the guide to morality, inspired by a deity. Why is incest, slavery, murder etc. included in such a allegedly perfect document? Why does anyone have to make excuses for it? The "context" argument does not hold. There is no moral context into which murdering babies, for example, may be inserted.

The translators of the New Testament, which was written in Greek, intentionally mistranslated the word doulos as "servant." It does not mean servant. It means slave.

The OT Law which Jesus defends, also covers beating your slave to death. "And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money." (Exodus 21:20-21)

So you can beat the hell out of your slaves as long as they don't die. Jesus never spoke one word against slavery.

The "Word of God", far from being inerrant, has always been a work in progress.

The "rich" live in gated communities with private security guarding the gates and patrolling the streets. They will not be the ones who suffer from the rising crime that would come from eliminating public assistance programs.

The people who will suffer will be the middle class and working poor who cannot be guarding their homes and working a full time job at the same time. They will come home to discover that all their outdoor furniture, barbeque grills, lawn mowers and anything else that can be sold for scrap missing from their yards. They will wake up to discover their catalytic converters have been removed from every vehicle parked in their driveway. As the impoverished become bolder, the working poor and middle class citizens will return from work to discover a broke down door on their home and their stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, televisions, computers, jewelry, guns and anything else of value...gone.

But don't believe you have nothing more of value inside your home. Thieves, desperate to feed their children and or drug habit will stop at nothing. They will rip the electrical wiring from your walls and tear out all the plumbing as well. Copper is bringing a high price at the scrap yards.

The rise in crime will cause a rise in homeowners insurance and local taxes will need to be increased to bring on additional police and corrections officers. The already backlogged court systems will be forced to pick and choose which case to prosecute and what crimes will be ignored. Frustrated victims will become outraged and form vigilante groups and the innocent will be made to suffer the consequences of selfish greed residing in their gated communities oblivious to the suffering of the outside world until the day comes when their gates are rammed and mobs of angry peasants go door to door pulling the protected class from their beds, lining them up on their knees along their pristine gutters and placing a single round of hot lead into the back of their well groomed heads.

That's the future under a republican fascist state. If the talibaggers get everything they demand, that will become the reality of their future.

The entire premise is FALSE.

Please attemtt to find ANY evidence of Moses, Jesus or Mohammad other than in their alleged holy books. Don't be shy... if TRUTH is what you seek, you've got a very long way to go.

The quest for Biblical accounts of ancient Egypt at least into the 19th Dynasty of Egypt's New Kingdom, take on an interesting approach by most investigators. Essentially, since there is no evidence to clearly support the existence of Joseph, or Moses, or the Israeli Exodus, most of the investigation examines what was possible, what cannot be ruled out, or what fits into and Egyptian context. In other words, is it possible that such events or people could have existed from what we know of ancient Egypt.

Some specifics are very possible, such as Joseph's rise to importance in the Egyptian court. Other events, such as the Exodus, as specifically told in the Bible, are much more difficult.

Though the Egyptians may not have liked to record defeats, it would seem very probable that, were the disasters inflicted upon them as detailed in the Bible, there would have survived some textual evidence.

For example, the Egyptians certainly recorded events such as eclipses of the sun and the levels of the Nile Flood. Were the Nile to have turned to blood and every firstborn child suddenly have died, not to mention all of the other plagues mentioned in Exodus, there would have doubtless been some record left, particularly during the New Kingdom.

Tomb records frequently provide us with the most meager of details, and we have, from that period, many thousands of documents recording civil actions and even commercial contracts.

"Despite the mass of contemporary records that have been unearthed in Egypt, not one historical reference to the presence of the Israelites has yet been found there.

Not a single mention of Joseph, the Pharaoh's 'Grand Vizier'. Not a word about Moses, or the spectacular flight from Egypt and the destruction of the pursuing Egyptian army."
Magnus Magnusson (The Archaeology of the Bible Lands - BC, p43)

For many centuries the Egyptians were present in Palestine, controlling the trade routes and importing the timber, olive oil and minerals not found in Egypt.

Archaeology has uncovered dramatic evidence of this pervasive Egyptian presence in 'Canaan'– yet nowhere does the Bible refer to Egyptians outside of Egypt. It would spoil the story!!

How could Hebrews escape into the promised land if the Bible admitted Egyptians were running the show there too?

'Neither Moses, nor an enslaved Israel nor the event of this Exodus are recorded in any known ancient records outside the Bible.

Although its climate has preserved the tiniest traces of ancient bedouin encampments and the sparse 5000-year-old villages of mine workers there is not a single trace of Moses or the Israelites.'
– John Romer, Testament

Oops! I forgot this

Nazareth – The Town Theology Built

Nazareth is not mentioned even once in the entire Old Testament. The Book of Joshua (19.10,16)– in what it claims is the process of settlement by the tribe of Zebulon in the area – records twelve towns and six villages and yet omits any 'Nazareth' from its list.

The Talmud, although it names 63 Galilean towns, knows nothing of Nazareth, nor does early rabbinic literature.

St Paul knows nothing of 'Nazareth'. Rabbi Solly's epistles (real and fake) mention Jesus 221 times, Nazareth not at all.

No ancient historian or geographer mentions Nazareth. It is first noted at the beginning of the 4th century.

In his histories, Josephus has a lot to say about Galilee. Josephus mentions 45 cities and villages of Galilee – yet Nazareth not at all.

What matters is consistency in what Christians say they believe and the source of those stated beliefs. The very book they attribute their beliefs to is often very difference from what they say it says.

Those people you mentioned may have existed or they may not have but the Word and the redeeming value has endured and Christians claim to follow it, but they don't. They deny the Word more than you do. Any Sunday morning proves it.
