Fosamax has recent received an upgraded warning because of the potential side effects it can cause like ONJ. A recent Fosamax lawsuit against Merck was won by a woman who claimed Fosamax was the cause of her ONJ.

It's sad that there has been a lot of research to support these findings. It has lead to many filing suit with the manufacturer's over claims that their osteonecrosis of the jaw was the result of taking these faulty drugs. http://www.fosamaxclassactionlawsuit.com/onj/

Fosamax and other bisphosphonates have been formulated to help increase bone mass. It is ironic that while it does what it has been formulated for, it may also cause another bone-related problem, albeit different.
