This pollution is not dependent only on coal energy. Pollution is most of all dependent on cars, jets, extremal using of gasoline, destruction of forrests, urbanization etc. It was dependent only on coal mines maybe in XIX century, but not in XX century. Can you vote for normal presidential candidate- Dr Ron Paul, it would be wise, you must show that you are wise.

The honorable Michael Dorstewitz says: "The rules limit the plants to no more than 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per megawatt hour. If enacted, the rules could cause as many as one-fourth of existing plants to close, place 200,000 jobs in jeopardy and cause utility rates to appreciably increase -- just as the president predicted four years ago."
Operative phrase:"could cause" If you do truly lose 25% of the Nation's total generation capacity, Congress and POTUS will have to deal with people after them with cans, bottles and perhaps ropes. People are not going to stand for rolling blackouts and not being able to check their Facebook status every 15 minutes.

The theft of the utility companies from their rightful American taxpayer owners have not only caused increased utility costs, but will continue to allow these "privately owned" utilities to keep Americans in slavery. The Congresses allowing this theft to occur knew they could use it to continue their social engineering policies. They even allowed the biggest insult right in your faces... the constant sales back and forth to raise your rates and now even the sales of American taxpayer utilities to foreign interests. Americans have been encouraged to become what they are... a bunch of dumbed-down drug addict narcissists more interested in fake erection longevity, than their own children's futures.

People don't pay attention to how many times their utility ownerships have changed hands, each time with additional boot to encourage the sale and it all comes back to the consumer each time in increased rates and "customer service charges." Now we have Germans owning multi-State utilities. You let your representatives allow taking utilities your parents and grandparents paid to establish and expand as public utilities to benefit all. Now, they rip you off, while donating to have the same representation continue to your disadvantage. Do we hear even one of them speaking to this travesty?

Congress and POTUS will simply blame it all on evil rich people and the compliant media will amplify the accusation. Then the conditions will worsen and the cycle of destruction will continue apace.

America was build on high quality untouched resources, a location midway between two markets (Europe to the Far East), advantages in inland transport (Mississippi and Great Lakes), a very flat and fertile 'bread basket' and a desperate and exploitable immigrant population. Capitalism just wasted most of those advantages while promoting rapid development. And now that the waste has become 'unsustainable', unrestrained green to the advantages of a very few (capitalism) is also in trouble.
