They should be fired just like I would be. Perhaps we can get some adults in there to actually address the issues at hand.

1 No doubt. Where has Georgy-poo been all this time? Does he not realize Ohio can benefit from such legislation? Thank god this dude is retiring. |

2 OK, now that the Issue 2 thing has gotten passed, against good judgement I might add, things can get back to normal around here... What are you smoking man? It seriously has to be mind altering for you to think that Ohio can benefit from CAP AND TAX. This bill, by itself, will push our weakened economy, getting worse in the real world every week, right over the edge into oblivion. I can tell you most assuredly that everyone's electric bills in this area will double almost overnight. In fact, although we have reduced our usage, our electric bill is up nearly 60%. The additional cost has been reported to me by the electric cooperative I am on as being due to modifications required to meet EPA standards and the mere threat of cap and tax legislation. Beyond that, the cost of everything will go up because it will cost more to produce. I can't stand Voinivich and Brown is a clown. I mean he's against this because it doesn't go far enough in his own deluded mind. And I would remiss if I didn't implicitly state that the idea of man induced global warming is completely incorrect. Beyond that, even if AGW (anthropomorphic global warming) is occurring, the results would be greatly beneficial in most respects. It certainly would alter things, but the net result would be positive. |

1 You are right-glad bizzaro world has ended and we are back to normal. I gave up smoking anything several years ago-you might want to try stop as well. Ohio is positioned well to take advantage of a green economy. When I say that I mean helping build wind turbines and solar panels/film. We have one of the largest solar companies in the US-First Solar. Quick story-about 5 years ago they were looking to expand-something like 400-500 jobs. They wanted to do it here in Ohio but they could not make that investment if the state did not have an alternative energy standard (market stability). They tried working with the General Assembly and nothing came about. So, FS went over and opened a new plant in Germany instead of Ohio. Additionally, you have solar panels being made in China and installed in Ohio, by out-of-state firms. Does this make sense? NO! We are on the right track with the advanced generation standard which has an alt. energy component. To my knowledge our energy prices in Ohio have been kept artificially low b/c we were living in a quasi-regulated, quasi-not regulated state. Even if cape and trade is off the table, our rates are going to go up. We need to ween ourselves off of coal. The climate bill is a start. Personally I don't think it goes far enough b/c it gives 80% of the credits to utilities-this is like saying they have a right to pollute. The other 20% in credits is a huge source of money. If the utility companies are smart-and some of them are catching on-they will begin to investigate emission off sets. Possibly join the Chicago Climate Exchange so when the hammer of legislation (or EPA regulation) hits, they will be in a competitive advantage. The bill will create green jobs for those utility companies as well as alt. forms of energy. In fact green collar jobs could number up to 40 million by 2030 given the right drivers. http://www.greenenergyohio.org/page.cfm... The pot of money that is green jobs is there for the taking-will Ohio be on board or once again, be a laggard... |

1 Babbling nonsense serves no purpose but it has never stopped extremists such as you and yours before. Let's keep doing the same research and we'll get a different answer we like. Yep, just like playing the slots. You make come up with a "winner" in your mind, but scientifically speaking it is merely an outlier. You not going to become wealthy playing the slots in most all cases but you certainly can lose your home. That's the game you and the Georgie-boy group are playing. The problem is the majority don't want to play that game with our granchildren's future. Go off in a remote corner of a developing nation you can abuse and play that game by yourself while we adults attempt to live in the real world that has significant challenges we must address soon. Yes, it may cost us all a bit of money but it will be more than worth it. |

2 You are right about playing the slots, it's a gamble. If you really believe we must address significant challenges, why not address those challenges now instead of creating challenges for our kids. I think George asked for an study to be completed but you want to act now, before we have another cold winter. Why can't we fix what is broken now ? Is that an extreme position, fix whats broken ? We have many broken programs but alloted 787 billion for pork, is it extreme to ask why that money could not go to fixing our socialist programs like Social Security, is that extreme ? You adults have just added 12 trillion in debt over the next ten years and have not addressed any current challenges. Why, can you tell us children when the earth was not in a period of change ? Can you tell us what caused the last warming period, the period that allowed mankind to thrive ? After Katrina hit, Al gore said that Katrinas were here to stay unless we followed his lead. Not only was it the slowest year for hurricanes in thirty years, it was the slowest globally with a downturn in cyclones also. If al gore is right, why have all of his short term predictions been wrong ? |

1 You somehow (not surprisingly) missed my point. The research has been done over and over globally and scientists who are experts in the field get the same results. The time to act is now to ameliorate the problem. Climate and weather though related are not the same. Many decades prove our climate is drastically changing on a global basis. New Orleans staying above water for a couple of years is a result of WEATHER patterns which can vary drastically over a short term. But I'm sure you know that since you spent your career studying meteorology. |

1 I have not spent time studying meteorology, to much math. I have studied Richard Lindzen, MIT and he is one of the worlds best known meteorologists, and he would love to debate al gore but al gore will not debate, he says, just like you say, that everything is now proven fact. Lindzen just released a twenty year study that refutes the UN's computer models in relation to radiation releasing into the atmosphere. The model you say is proven, is now proven wrong. The computer model has theory inputted, then runs to where the imputter wants it to go. Lindzen, a member of the Nat'l academy of sciences since 1977, cannot get a debate about his latest study, why not. Like I said earlier, congress should fix what they have broken before they brake more things. Even Obama is now trying to get Sarbanes - Oxley re-worked because it is killing small companies. As to weather and climate, I agree that if is hot a couple of days it is weather, we have had a decline in temps since 1998, hardly global warming. Please note that we are also in a period of low solar activity, something al gore will not debate. Can you answer the simple question of why we warmed from our last ice age and when has the earth not been in climate change ? Call me names if you want but if you truly are smarter and take the high road, answer a simple question. You claimed to be an adult, act the part. |

1 This pretty much says it all on your guy- "Lindzen ... charges oil and coal interests $2,500 a day for his consulting services; his 1991 trip to testify before a Senate committee was paid for by Western Fuels and a speech he wrote, entitled Global Warming: the Origin and Nature of Alleged Scientific Consensus was underwritten by OPEC.Lindzen has contributed to think tanks including the Cato Institute and the George C. Marshall Institute that have accepted money from ExxonMobil." |

1 I knew that was coming so i have to ask where most of the money from gov/UN goes ? It also seems that the amount of reduction of carbon that it would take to reduce temp by 1 degree is not even close to realistic. This is from UN numbers showing how to reduce world temp, Like Monckton said, why bother ? Can you tell me when the climate stopped changing ? You have not answered repeated questions about this, when has the earth ever stood still when it comes to change ? How many scientific studies proove vast changes throughout the history of the world but we are following a guy that flunked out of divinity school. He does know a good scam when he sees one, look how much he just made of the stimulis plan, millions ! What caused the glaciers to melt the last time ? How do you know what the optimum temp is supposed to be ? Nobody has ever answered those questions in an open debate, before that debate happened, we were told the debate was over. Why did the reporter get his microphone cut off when he questioned al gore about his falsehoods in his book, he chose not to defend the falsehoods, that is his way to debate. |

2 You believers can cry “they say, they say, the scientists say all you want……………… Here is an explanation and a reality check for you global warmers on why this theory is doomed soon to cult status. You see you global warming believers are up against the wall and cornered and you have spent your last bullet because you have bet the house and the farm on this theory. You are promising the impossible here. You are ALL IN ! You have made the ultimate bet, a death threat.(Note: you warmies all have your own personal definitions that may or may not include death as a consequence and this shows that as a group, you warmies can't even agree on what global warming is) So every year for the last 23 years while you warmers call for warming and crisis, I have been going south to get warm, snowmobile, snowboard, shovel snow and still have 5 to 7 months of snow cover where I live like we have always had it. So you freaks can say “they say” all you want as you and your mini-cult march with you’re THE END IS NEAR signs right into history. A history that will both laugh and curse at you very soon. I see politicians bailing first on climate change, then consultants and PR firms as research money stops and the last but not least, the lazy corporate media. Not only has your crisis not arrived, neither has your promise of death. Do you see how silly warmies will look soon? |

Concerning EPA's economic analysis, I think if one reads it you might find that 100 nuclear power plants over the next 20 years is a base assumption for keeping the costs to about a postage stamp per day for a houshold.
Now I don't know where the 100 nuclear power plants over the next 20 years are coming from nor do I believe it can happen. Too many folks have protested nuclear. There are 8-9 plants on the drawing boards but the NRC shot down a desgin on the 3-foot thick containment wall and the utilities can not get the loans. So the cost to the average American is going to be a lot more than a postage stamp per day. So is the EPA economic anlaysis accurate? LOL! As much as I hate to admit it, the BIg V is right. |

So...what's your point? You have not shown any evidence that g.w. is NOT happening. All you did was espouse an opinion with out facts to back it up. |

1 You have not shown why melting ice is not caused by Nature anymore like it used and you have not proven your theory anyways. It's not my theory. You prove it. Good luck with that as we watch you doomers crawl into history. |
