I will agree that big business loves the temporary foreign worker.
But how about temporary foreign worker programs(documented and controlled) as opposed to borders with people sneaking in?
I never posted any hate of anyone in my first post. Where I live, Canada if no one has noticed my isp, we have had immigrants from many places for generations....it's always been "multicultural"...bu t people became Canadian. Today we have thousands of immigrants who only live here for convenience. They have no real allegiance to Canada, their heart is back home. Even some of their children, 2nd generation immigrants, feel the same way. They will even tell you this themselves. Todays immigrants, not all but a very high percentage, are nothing like those of longer ago.
We even have thousands of them who get their citizenship then return back to their homeland. The only time they come back here is for medical care or trouble(war, legal matters etc) breaks out and they beg the Cdn govt to help them get out. When Israel and Lebanon were fighting a few years ago, Canada had to get 80,000+ Lebanese-Canadians out...cost millions.
I'm big on TGW with documentation and (some restrictions will apply). I'm also big on making some distinctions among the illegals already here. Some have filed tax returns and paid what is owed or received what they could get for years now (since 1994 when Clinton provided the ITIN). Some have been here years and never paid in anything - just worked for cash payday jobs and got welfare subsidy as well. How about we ask BUSINESS to compromise with us in order to assist unemployed Americans? We start by only considering those who have filed tax returns for "x" number of years (TBD) but longer is better. We qualify them based on a lot of standards (progressively) while they continue working for their employers who get a "one time only pass" to retain them while they go through the process. If, at any point, they fail to make the grade, the employer is notified via an online database and must immediately terminate the failed candidate and replace them with an American or legal immigrant worker.

Okay. We can actually reduce the number left to deport by about half, force employers to pay all their employer taxes, and the formerly undocumented workers to pay all their taxes and file their returns too. We could free somewhere between 3-5 million jobs for American workers. We can discourage anybody else from entering, because if you're not a TGW, and somebody hires you anyway, not only is that employer fined a heavy penalty, he is henceforth prohibited from using anybody else in the TGW program. He's blacklisted for his infraction. That should stop the hopeful from coming, make sure new openings go to legal workers, and it will also cut the job of border patrol down to manageability. They would then be seeing drug couriers and terrorists pretty much as the main border crossers. That should allow DHS to give them more leeway again.

The TGW's get to apply for and receive a DL that identifies them as TGW's. If they violate any terms of the program (felony, domestic assault, etc.), they are terminated, ordered deported, and the DL is electronically revoked. No welfare for TGW. Sink or swim via your efforts. No pathway to citizenship. If you want to become a LPR or citizen? Go home and get in the line. That also sends a signal to others world-wide to wait their turns IF they want to be U.S. citizens and they want to hold a job. It could help us so much, and it might be something businesses could swallow even better than making them all citizens which qualifies them for everything under the sun that Americans receive.

We'd hold their social security contributions in a separate interest bearing acct. returned when they leave the U.S.A. or the program ends.

To Boost Popularity, Romney Sprinkles Self with Bacon

Hits Campaign Trail with Zesty Meat Topping

COLUMBUS, OHIO (The Borowitz Report)– In what some are calling a move designed to help him connect better with voters, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney today began sprinkling himself with bits of bacon before each campaign appearance.

According to one campaign staffer, the decision to sprinkle Mr. Romney with a zesty meat topping was inspired by Burger King’s announcement that it would soon be selling a Bacon Sundae at its fast-food restaurants.

“Apparently, everything is a little more palatable with bacon on top,” the staffer said.“Even Mitt Romney.”

As part of the bacon rollout, the campaign changed its official slogan today from “Romney: Believe in America” to “Romney: Now with Yummy Bacon.”

The newly meat-flavored Romney appeared at a rally in Columbus, where his audience gave his generous sprinkling of bacon bits a tentative thumbs-up.

“I thought his speech was kind of boring,” said Carol Foyler, 44, a receptionist for a Columbus law firm.“But he smelled delicious.”

Not so impressed, however, was computer programmer Tracy Klugian, 25:“I was sitting in the front row, and I’m pretty sure Romney’s bacon bits were fake.”

Burger King’s launch of its Bacon Sundae has already had repercussions for its principal rival, McDonald’s, who today announced plans to introduce a new McDeathwich

Obama is just playing politics in trying to get the hispanic vote which is 16.3% according to US Census and yes I agree the Republicans are playing games too which Mitch McConnell confirmed what he said at the Hertiage Foundation what their top political priority was and that was to Make Obama a One Term President and I agree Congress is the one that is holding the economy hostage and people need to get out vote out these career politicans out because all those politicans are out to do is to line their pockets at the expense of the American Taxpayers and help certain ones at the top concentrate the wealth of the country into just a few hands plus at the same time destroy this country in process which I believe is their goal so they can usher in a new form of a world government which is the goal of the Rockefeller's & other since they have got us involved globally in other economies.

<quoted text>Hey NTPR,
here is something you can use to smack KA with as Romney is a Predatory Capitalist .(I have no problem with Capitalism but Predatory Capitalists...)
When Bain owned Steel Dynamics, Romney and his investors took $37 million in taxpayer subsidies—a sweet deal when they only invested about half that amount themselves. Tad DeHaven of the libertarian Cato Institute told the Los Angeles Times,“This is corporate welfare, an example of the government stepping into the marketplace, picking winners and losers, providing profits to business owners, and leaving taxpayers stuck with the bill.”
Classic crony capitalism: privatize the gain, socialize the risk. When Romney drove GST Steel into bankruptcy, he and his partners made $12 million in profit and another $4.5 million in consulting fees. But Romney stuck the taxpayers with a $44 million tab for the company’s underfunded pensions.
I witnessed this so many times in the eighties and nineties, I can't even count. I saw so many shafted shareholders and company employees who lost their jobs, their pension benefits, their homes, etc. while the CEO and key executives waltzed out the door hundreds of millions of dollars better off. I know one key executive who was fired by Disney and took enough in his payoff (to get rid of him) to go in with a partner and buy a major American airline. Obscene. Another built a mega-mansion in Malibu while his former employees beat the pavement looking for work. The close associates who also benefited wound up in investment boutiques still raking in money.

Romney is from that mentality, and it NEVER considers anything aside from how much profit can the key players make on a transaction.

On the flip side of the coin, I have actually seen moderate sized companies grow those business and net worth being enabled to grow via junk bonds. Go figure.

Obama should use every executive privilege he has available to override anything he can. He is the commander in chief and as such carries quite a bit of weight. Why he does not use it I can only suggest his owners will not permit it.

Both parties are purchased along with the candidates. each with their own agenda, and if by chance, the middle class benefits... good, if not, who cares?

Uhhh...Commander in Chief is a title and role that only applies to a president's control of the military. He does not "command" private citizens, businesses or institutions (Including Congress.) You need to research "separation of powers"
Better yet, you need to find a nice little dictatorship to suit your desire for totalitarian governance.

When you occupy land owned by the War Department (now the DOD) in Washington, DC, that outcome is to be expected. Let's see a president try that in any of the 50 states. It's not going to happen.

I wasn't replying to you. I only listed those pardons that kept congress from continuing to investigate all the crooked dealings of Regan/Bush from interfering with Carters attempts to get Iran to release hostages, to selling weapons to Iran, illegal funding of foreign armies, unlawful US military participation in clandestine wars after congressional prohibition of those very acts and lying about it under oath.

Bush Sr also pardoned bank embezzlers, government thieves, meth dealers, cocaine smugglers, female slave traders, gun smugglers, postal employees who steal mail, and even killers. Just refer to the link I provided earlier. Bush Sr let a lot of bank robbers and tax cheats off the hook.
