I think I'm going to quit work, let the government develop more welfare programs for me, just to get a return back on my tax dollar. See how it works?

I hope the House is also going to draft and pass a letter to their grandchildren, children, and mine...apologizing in advance for their futile future....

It is not over yet. Call your Senators and encourage them to vote no. We need reform and we can have reform but we do not need 2000 pages of reform.

Is this what you obama voters wanted?

Well, my husband and I ALREADY paying $15,000 a year for health insurance! We pay more for health insurasnce than we do for out mortgage, and have big co-pays to boot. Germany and France have excellent health care systems, not the pay-per-service nonsense that helped to cause this mess. The cover story of the NYTimes Sunday magazine this week is interesting.

when you cut thru the 2000 pages of the medical bill, what your left with is a health care rationing bill which by the way, congress is exempt from. if this bill is so wonderful, why wouldnt congress want it for their families. one guess.

More large businesses going overseas. Small businesses thinking twice about extra costs losing more jobs. All products that we buy will increase in price to pay for providing health insurance to those living on government handouts. Our taxes will increase to pay for this expanded government.

Taxpayers (those working for a living) are scr*ewed again by the Democrats.

When you get laid off and your job goes overseas, be sure and send Pelosi a thank you note.

Republican "alternative" allowed insurance companies to discriminate against pre-existing conditions, restored the monopolistic anti-trust exemption to the insurance companies, and put created age-tiered escalating price "classes" (older people pay more), and offered those with pre-existing illnesses a so-called high risk pool option with premiums starting at $30,000/annual.

The 219 Democrats and 1 Republican can say, "I'm proud I was on the right side of history and worked for good of the nation. I worked for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all." Don't know what the others will have to say... something about admitting to being creeps maybe.

You should take up reading lessons.... and, by the way, there IS NO EXEMPTION for Congress in the bill, which if you could read, rather than listen to talk-radio nonsense, you might know. Why would Congress even have to exempt itself, since "employer provided insurance" (like the coverage they get as Congressmen) meets all the requirements of health care coverage as defined by the bill.

Would you please furnish your source. I do not recall others citing what you allege in the Republican alternative bill.

Well, at least Harry Teague voted AGAINST the bill.

Now, if we can get him to fight against CAP and TRADE.
