While the rest of you inbred morons are saying "Praise God!" I agree with this person. This woman is totally selfish. I bet when her children grow up, they will NOT be happy with her selfish decision. Ever heard of the Darwin Awards? Get a grip, people. Or better yet, an EDUCATION. I know that's a bad word here, but not for the rest of the country!!
<quoted text>
and from where did you receive an education that allows you to so harshly weigh and judge a mother's love and an individual's worth? i hold a bachelor of arts,summa cum laude, from utk and a doctor of jurisprudence from utk law. thankfully i was never educated to the beliefs that you express--if my position constitutes ignorance, so be it. i would rather be a loving and accepting ignoramus than a hateful, intolerant genius.

Well I am near sighted if you want to call that a disability, LOL! I use to live in TN up until 8 years ago, I was born and raised in East TN so I understand that ya'll are taught to think everything is a gift from God, but get real people. God gave us free will and a brain to choose what will we act on. If a doctor told me that if I had a child it would suffer physically and emotionally, I would have my tubes tied. Our system has been bleed dry as it is. I'm sure this lady got free care from Medicaid, or as those on it see it as free. I paid for it.
'You' are suffering physically and/or emotionally or you wouldn't be so outwardly over this... something far greater then this women having a baby is disturbing you.

Yes, we all have free will... this women exercised her free will. Why does that bother you?

ps. I'm not from Tennessee, live here now but was in my late 30 before I moved here.

It bothers me because I'm paying for it. You can pay for it all you want and be fine with it, but I'm not. I have a happy life, I'm health, my son is health, I have a good marriage, good in-laws, great job. I'm just tired of working 5 days a week to pay for my choices and everyone else's. If you can not afford to pay for something completely on your own then you shouldn't have it, period. It's funny though how some people on here think they can have an opinion but no one else can. I'm sure most who are fine and dandy w/this woman putting a burden on society are a burden themselves.

My wife has osteogenesis imperfecta as well and we have two beautiful "normal" children.While she is not as small as this courageous woman is....and her physical ailments are many...I want to take time to thank God that I met and fell in love with her.She opened my eyes and my heart...she has made me a better man and I could not ask for a better mother for my children.I am so thrilled we are not living under the rule of Adolph Hitler as seemingly many of you wish we were..or in caveman times when the disabled had to be left behind to die.I will pray for each one of you ignorant, close minded ,and thoughtless people who may not have small bodies or suffer ceaselessly from broken bones...but worse...have small hearts and minds and suffer from a broken soul.

I also have OI (oste genesis imperfecta.) I am 40 years old and 3 feet tall and a full time wheelchair user. I think it's wonderful that Stacey is living her life to the fullest.

Any one who comments negatively on her CHOICE to have children are just to stupid and ignorant to pay attention to.

I am proud of you Stacey. I was also told not to get pregnanat, at this stage in the game I want to adopt. I do hope I am as fortunate in finding a loving soul who can see me as an independent loving human being as her husband sees her.

I wish you and your family much health and good fortune in the years to come. You are an inspiration to people with disabilities and those temporarly non-disabled as well:)

This has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read. I guess the indoctrination you received at those magnificent institutions has paid off in full.

Proof positive that College can have a severe effect on an individuals powers of observation, discernment and perception. Liberals really ARE stupid.

Before having children you and the prospective father should have a complete genetic work up. However, not all defects can be predicted. Perhaps you should schedule that tubal now?

You people are stupid. Had you read my comments w/an open mind that you so seem to think you have you would realize that I do not have a problem w/this woman wanting to be a mother, I have a problem w/her wanting to give birth. When you knowing can pass on something that could disable or be a death sentence for your child that is wrong. Why not adopt? Grow up people. You can have an opinion and so can I. You want to put me down and say it isn't my place to judge and yet you judge me. Ya'll might want to re-read your bible.

I am so sick of the slang "inbred" being used by uneducated people who don't agree with someone. If you do not like the people in this area, then move. That would be one less jerk we have to worry about around here. As for uneducated... I am willing to bet most of the people in this forum is way more educated than you will ever be. That said, who has the right to say if this woman should have children or not. If she can have them, wants to have them, she should have them. May God be with her and her family always!!

There is just NO way this is real. The story is internally inconsistent. The doctors said she couldn't deliver a baby...but there's an older sister who is 16 months? I think someone punk'd NBC affiliates who are running this one.
