Surprisingly, I don't remember that.Okay for some reason the episode where Barney is is acting Sheriff just popped into my head. Remember when Goober is holding his nose because a woman punch him and he is complaining to Sheriff Barney. So Barney tells Goober to "well hit her back"!!

Oh its a great one. I hope it comes on soon. The episode where Otis bought a car was on last night. Barney hanging out watching Otis with the limbs on his head is always a favorite scene for me.

The best part of that show is where Barney is giving him a driving test on the floor of the court house with the little cars. Remember when they both come up in an intersection at the same time and Barney asks him who has the right of way? Or when he is driving behind him and he knocks his car out of the way and calls him a Sunday Driver. |

Otissss.... love that man! I remember the episode where Otis won some award from the two or three ladies from Mt Pilot (I think). The ladies traced Otis' ancestors back and thought that he was a descendant of a hero. Of course, Barney thought that he was the one to receive the award. Poor Otis, and poor Barney! |

Wow, I almost forgot that one. That was hilarious!!!! |

Oh yes, the cars. I love it when Andy says (after looking at the little cars) "You might be able to fit in yours but I don't think Otis will fit in his!"
What about the episode where Otis is riding the Cow! |

Last night one of the episodes on TVLand was where Charlene Darling is going to divorce her husband because he grinned at another girl. Barney has to ride the white horse through town and he's allergic to horses. I had never realized before that Charlene's husband was Bob Denver.

Barney sneezing while riding that horse is hilarious! Yeah, Alex Hale (the Skipper) was also on the show. He came down from the mountains to find a wife.

I just learned something new. The fun girls episode is the only episode where Gomer and Goober appear together!!
Hey D-O-L-L!! |

Until you pointed it out I didn't realize that is who that was. I can see him in my head. Remember when Opie comes in and tells his dad "He's on the street corner picking up girls". |

This episode was on TVLand yesterday afternoon. It's also the one where Goober does his Cary Grant imitation, "Judy, Judy, Judy". |

Favorite for me was the one with the 3 women escapees that held Barney and Floyd in O'Malley's cabin. Never will forget Floyd starting to call Barney "Al" just like the convicts did. You really can't go wrong on any episode. I only hated one and that was the one with Buddy Ebsen who played the hobo who was traveling through Mayberry. Just didn't seem to fit the show for some reason. Not funny either.

I think the best one was the "Haunted House" episode, where Otis and his friends are making moonshine in an old house and tells everyone it is haunted. Barney and Gomer were just too funny!

Anyone notice that there seem to be certain episodes they don't air very often? BlueEyes' post about the Haunted House episode made me think of that. Some episodes I've seen dozens of times, but I've probably only seen that one maybe three times.

I like the episodes on TV land. The episodes on regular tv omit certain scenes for commercials. I watched 3 wishes for Opie last night and there were scenes I didn't know even existed. Interesting.

Hey. The episode where Barney has the police dog is on. I just love this one. "Here Blue"
|

|
was the bird call "hoody hoo" used in a Andy Griffith show or only in Gomer Pyle USMC
|
||||
I believe that Gomer used it,when he was a deputy. They were up by the "lake".I may be wrong. .......... My favorite episode was when Barney rushed up onto the stage,of the school gym,and declared,,,, "We defy the Mafia!" Having grown up in a small MOB town,it rings so true,to go to small Appalachian towns, and see those words in action. Churches have a lot to do with that action. |
