Knox County couple murdered; two in custody

So much death. This world is coming to an end, and soon. May God be with this family.

Gosh, what is going on in Knoxville?

Now I'm in Philadelphia, are Knox County and Knoxville the same place?

It's a shame and yes Knox County Tennesee is the same as Knoxville Tennessee..

Every time you listen to the news or talk to someone, you hear about someone getting killed. I agree with Cmon. This world is coming to an end soon. We Christians need to be working for God trying to get people to go to church and get saved. My prayers are with the family and friends left behind. God please be with this family, put Your loving arms around them and let them feel Your love.

i do not think that his happened in knoxville city limits not everything in knox county is in the city of knoxville but still its to close there have been alot of murders lately or attempted murders in this area

Actually, I'm trying to move to Knoxville. That's why I always read the WBIR Knoxville forums to try and stay on top of the news.

Lately, all I have been reading is all the crime that is taking place in the city.

Okay,Knoxxie let's see if I can explain Knoxville.For the most part people in knoxville are great people,but.....
White UT fans Love Peyton Manning.Black UT fans will talk nice about Peyton while White UT fans around.When they leave,they dog the crap out him(It's Tee Martin.He beat Florida and won a National Championship).Knoxville is getting better with change,but locals hate it.Most of the crime happens in the surroundind area,and is mostly white.(But Black People get the blame for high crime,even though they were no where near.Yep,we have white and black hillbillys running around in Knoxville.The worst I spoke of are really the few,the many are great people.what Im trying to say is Knoxville is like most places now.It's sad the few get more attention than the many.

I hope that this crime is solved quickly. I hope this family is comforted by the Holy Spirit at this horrible time. I'd say more than likely this will end up being a family member or acquaintance that killed them. Most people murdered are killed by someone they know.

What is wrong with people these days!?!? Everywhere you read someone's being murdered! We all need to just pray for all the lost bothered souls.

the persons that are responsible for these deaths should be hung in the streets of oak ridge

I would tell you to move to West Knoxville, but lately we have had some crime. I know when I moved here everyone I worked with said move west. I am glad I did. There are some places I wouldn't even go in the day time in East Knoxville; let alone live there.

I keep hearing that I need to stay away from East Knoxville.

"We" are making these events into black/white issues. We need to look at our skin colors. I am not white, I am tan; therefore I choose the term caucasian as my race. One of my dear friends is not black; she is tan like me. I call her race African American, because that is the term she uses and I honor and respect her choices.
Let's drop the black/white thing and realize there are lots of evil people out in the world doing horrible things to others, regardless of skin color or race.

Yes it does seem to be that Knoxville City and County appear to have a high rate of crime. It used to not be this bad. However keep in mind as with most forums and outlets, it is the bad news that makes the news sale. There are great people in all areas of Knoxville. There are certain areas I stay out of after dark. That is just how things are. I'm sure Philly has it's rough areas. Aragorn summed it up nicely, there are good and bad in both colors down here. I'm white, so I tend to stay away from black neighborhoods. But, there are certain white neighborhoods I'll stay away from too. Knoxville City has four main areas: East, West, North , and South. I'm sure i'll offend someone with my thoughts, but this is an open forum. I like to entertain, enlighten, and engage. The east side of Knoxville tends to be the where the majority of blacks live. It has a few housing projects that are crime ridden. West Knoxville is where all the money is in Knoxville and the lowest crime rate. if you want to live here, I suggest west Knoxville. North Knoxville has a reputation of being pretty much a mixed bag. I assume the land is cheaper up there. South Knoxville has a reputation for being the home of white crime. So, I wouldn't reccomend moving there.
I realize I didn't paint a very nice picture of Knoxville for the residents that live here. There are great people in all areas and you have you white and black trash in all areas.

If you have a chanve to move anywhere else, I would do it. You can do much better than here.

Knoxville has it's crime...small petty crimes to the unthinkable...but if you consider other mid-size to large cities we are doing pretty good. No city or town is without it. As far as the black/white issue violence has no zip code. You can be a victim in East Knoxville just as easy as West Knoxville. Maybe you hear about crime here more often because it's really rare here and when it does happen it's on every tv station and front page of the newspaper. I love Knoxville and I think it's one of the best places to live and bring up your children.
