I hope Rags saw himself on TV when the news zoomed in on him saying "Showboat." I hope he realizes how much this has turned the public against him and just proves that all of the allegations against him are every one true. Then to blatantly lie on camera. He needs to do himself a favor and step down from that throne that he thinks he rules from. The more I see of him on TV, the more he sickens me. He is nothing more than a thug. A lying thieving thug at that.

The title of the article is very misleading.
"Knox Mayor resorts to name-calling" - yellow journalism at it's best. Your editor's should be ashamed.
How about "Knox Mayor accused of name-calling"?

Come on Rags....You calling the man a showboat is like the pot calling the kettle black!! You did it, we saw it, fess up.

I don't care that you are out reading to children. What does your arrogant Chief of Staff, Mike Arms do while you are doing that? Does he do anything? He should be the one checking all these financial records and approving them. But, you are the one ultimately responsible for it all.

Continued arrogance. That is all that King Mikey and his band of thieves has given us to date and it appears that is what we shall continue to receive.

Go Cosby, Go Cosby. It's about time somebody told him to his face, not to mention out loud in front of everybody else just what he has been doing and allowing his staff to do. Thank You, Mr. Cosby, are you sure you don't want to run for office......you would surely have my vote. and why do they have to pay them $50 an hour, wouldn't $25 be sufficient?

Cosby's obviously got a vendetta. Looks like a county employee that has sponged his whole life on the government. Ragsdale probably made him work. Ragsdale came from private business. Most of these jokers and all their family members who we are keeping up, couldn't get a real job. Cosby should audit the commission, but I don't think he's interested in truth.

Yes, I saw Ragsdale say it. And yes, I read Crosby's file on Finch's outrageous expenses with no receipts or dooumentation.
And that's regrettable but small potatoes.
We had already paid $200,000 to an auditting firm and the firm didn't raise enough red flags to stop this before Mr Crosby stepped up to the plate.
I hate to think what else hasn't been
discovered.
Ragsdale looked embarrased. I suspect it's going to get worse. When is he going to wake up. Ragsdale should fire Finch and resign. We should hire anew auditting firm.

No question the mayor used petulant remarks. So he can quote scripture out of one side of his mouth and speak ill with the other. Shameful.

From looking at the video, it appears that he DID resort to name-calling. Yes, he was accused of it, but in the same vain, its' proven that he did it. Its' on camera...

I guess I've got a vendetta also. I'm tired of my taxes (regardless if it is wheel tax or property taxe) being raised to support these sleeze bags who think they are entitled to our tax dollars.

Yes, Ragsdale was certainly caught with his designer shoe in his mouth this time wasn't he? Too bad the public can't fire these rich little Farragut boys that pretend to be leaders. Our local government is a major joke right now and it personifies the negative image that visitors have of East Tennessee. WHY is this man being allowed to do this? He was clearly embarrassed at being caught in the act of acting like a 12 year old boy, but why is he not embarrassed at the condition our county offices are in? Just because he ran unopposed doesn't mean he doesn't have an obligation to uphold some kind of ethics does it?

I remember one time I had to get out of a parking place fast so I hit the gas. I pulled out in front of Ragsdale and I could see him call me a stupid egg sucking maggot. That made me angry but I bit my tongue and went on.

thanks to cosby...and did you get the comment that the audit is by sample and it depends on the sample provided to the auditor. No wonder rags does not want to blame the auditor...the auditor would disclose the samples rags provided and this is fraud by intent....is it not?

It is one strange operation in county govt. I cannot believe that Finch lady still has a job but Ragsdale is talking about the healing process. How about the process of stealing and the process of accounting.

I noticed Finch's apologists there last night begging for the county to move on. Yes, of course no doubt you want that very much. Laughable.

You got a quick look at what is wrong with Knox County Government. The arrogance which fills each office holder is beyond belief and their degrading any citizen which would dare come before commission and criticize anything they have done. However, in this instance Ragsdale has been caught red handed spending hundreds of thousands of dollars playing big shot and hopping around the country like a rock star. Problem is, nobody on the outside really cares and the taxpayers are sick of footing those bills while they raise our taxes, providing nothing new exept overpriced personnel, bloated spending, gross mismanagement, and a disenfranchised population.

If you want to see why Knoxville is behind most communities in tersm of education, economic development, quality of life, just watch Lewis Cosby's interaction with the mayor and you'll see why.
