Barack Obama is truly the first US. "head" of state ever. ill bet he has a U.S. bong hidden somewhere, for "sentimental value" that he and michelle(mabey even marion) hit on very special occations... you also must know about the aphrodisiac qualities of pot??? yes??

That is the BIG question.

He did, and it worked, with ADDED jobs. How you can portray that to be a bad thing is beyond me. it is naturally a bad thing when the middel class has less money and the wealthy have more.......the money isnt circulating nearly as much if it goes to the welathy..... and that is exactly whatr lawmakers in wisconsin did, balance the budget on the backs of the middle class, to give the "job creators" more wealth that they arnt going to reivest. demand stimulates the economy, not tax breaks for the wealthy.... and you cant stop a flood or rescue folks with a tax break for billionaires. any rspectable economist(paul krugman, robert reich) will tell you this.....listen to them.

Mr. Clinton clearly stated he felt the bush tax cuts should stay in play, until after the election. The white house has VEHEMENTLY rejected that, rather forcefully. Will be interesting to see the skurrying within the democratic party in the next week or so. This is the 2nd time recently Mr. Clinton has "upset the apple cart" of the white house. The first was when he said Mr. Romney had a stellar record in business. it would help if the democrats all got on the same page, HUH???especially the one who's policies they are trying pitch as an alternative..... I think that clinton era taxation rates, for the uber wealthy, are perfect. as well as the size of the clinton era defense budgets. lets go back to both.

That may be one possible explanation for the way the "recall" went. it seems like only republicans would be stooooopid enough to freeze their nuts off like that.

Do not even try to tell me the unions who had already spent a jillion bucks in Madison, could not have poured in the same amounts. The answer I'm looking for, however, does require some thought and also includes the reason 2 large cities in California ALSO last night, made some pretty drastic changes in public employees benefit program.

I suspect that alot of the Dems left because Walker had done away with their jobs. The Working People have to go where the jobs are. Then , I suspect some also left because they were just tired of all the BS. I know that feeling quite well, I'm ready to leave the State of TN. for the same reason. In fact, if Romney wins the election. I'll be ready to leave this Country for the same reason. This is the first time in my Life that I have ever even considered leaving this Country that I love so much, but I'm about ready to go & Romney being President, after 8 years of Bush/Cheney with only 4 years to recover, will mean the end of my patience & hope for the U.S.A.

Sassy, that reason you stated "that its because dems left" might be plausible, IF, there weren't right-at 500,000 jobs created during that time-frame. Walker had projected about 4 times that tho..so came up short on his optimism. The dems there out to be celebrating at the turn around of the state's huge deficit into a thriving economy again...another HUGE factor why walker retained his seat.

Classic example of Voters who are so brainwashed that they vote against their own best interests for their entire Lives & the consequences they suffer for doing so. The worst part is that they die without ever seeing where they made their mistake! I just can't understand it!

Dunlapian wrote: <quoted text>I can answer that with two words, "Big Business". You could be right, but that really makes no sense. Dems are JUST as wealthy as the pubs (soros/buffet). The unions have a TON of money, they made a conscious effort to make this their waterloo...by the demonstrations organized in the beginning. Don't get me wrong, I have no big/big answers here, it just makes no sense. In my mind, anyway, the key is San Jose and San Diego voting down public employee benefits yesterday as well. San Diego MIGHT be more conservative (military is there) but San Jose definitely isn't...the major is even a dem and leading the charge for the effort.
