Iraq considering timetable for withdrawal
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki raised the prospect on Monday of setting a timetable for the withdrawal of troops as part of negotiations over a new security agreement with Washington.
It was the first time the U.S.-backed Shi'ite-led government has floated the idea of a timetable for the removal of American forces from Iraq. The Bush administration has always opposed such a move, saying it would give militant groups an advantage.

al-Maliki wants to get re-elected. He needs al Sadr's help. al-Sadr wants a timetable. It's all politics, no different in Iraq than here.

1 I thought our extended stay was supposed to last only up until the boys in Iraq could take care of themselves. If they want to take the reigns over their own country (you know Mr. Bush: "sovereignty"), then by George let's give it to them. I don't see why we should keep putting our boys in harm's way. Instead of asking an obvious idiot and his corrupt cronies, I think we should let the military and the Iraqis decide what course to take. The State Department has been out to lunch for quite a while now. Why do you think Powell left in disgust? Forcing Bush's square into the circle hole of Iraq has wrought the death of 4,100 innocent soldiers. It's time we ask the guys on the ground and the people of Iraq what the best course of action is, and not follow guidelines set on the questionable ideology of an idiot and his corrupt buddies who are making a fortune have Haliburton, Blackwater and other contractors out there in Iraq. I truly hope that the Bush administration is brought to trial for all their crimes. |

For anyone interested in the current affairs of Iraq and Iran. Here is a link to some very good information. It's a summary of the Iraq agreement that the US wanted Iraq to agree to.
It's very interesting..... http://www.topix.com/forum/news/george-bush/T... |

Bush won't leave office without bringing our troops home. That's elementary horse sense. That paves the way for McCain to take over.

1 If I he were the liar you Liberal morons take him for, Bush could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.' Instead, Bush owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty. If Bush were trading blood for oil he would've already seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. We still face real threats in the world. |

1 And we still threaten the world. Should be a happy middle in there somewhere ya think? As to the rest of your statement. Regime change by the people of Iraq is what we supported. Yeah at a press dinner and made several cute jokes - owned up. They initially manufactured the scheme and fabricated evidence that still doesn't exist - so that doesn't hold too much water. Sad fact is he did trade blood for oil. Who are the major American Oil Companies there now - the original ones who were there? This whole "adventure" has been frought with corruption, lack of accountability, financial and personal, ineptitude on the part of our administration and the military in the Pentagon. WHen you base something on manufactured delusion - should it be a real surprise that you can fool people once, twice, or be the fool? I don't think the Liberals were the morons in this situation. You see none of the neo-con bandits in this situation still have not taken responsibility for over 4000 American lives, 30000 disabled/injured American lives - many permanently, Veterans without care, totally decimating the national guard who got less support than the regular military units, etc. all based on lies for profit. Not to mention the countless Iraqi's slaughtered in the process. And the liberals are the morons in this situation? Those of us who from the beginning said this is a ruse and a lie are the ones at fault? You Bushbots are still blind and clueless as you have always been. Deniability huh? This is a more horrific crime than oh we made some mistakes along the way. Hopefully since no one has the guts to hold anyone accountable - I hope all the perpetrators of this fraud and those who supported them burn in hell for their actions. Our dead and injured soldiers cry for justice - while our living make jokes. And by the way - the rest of Iraq has gone and is still in hell. Think you are thinking of Emerald City where the Great and Powerful OZ lives. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS. BRING THEM HOME. BRING THE NATIONAL GUARD HOME ONCE AND FOR ALL TIME. SUPPORT ALL OUR VETERANS WITH REAL BENEFITS AND CARE. TAKE BACK THE GOVERNMENT FROM CORPORATE INTERESTS. NEVER LET THIS BULLSHIT HAPPEN AGAIN. |

1 Here's the problem with al Maliki's plan which is coincidentally similar to Obama's,(world's getting geared up for Presient Obama), it calls for the removal of "combat troops" not all troops. And for those that have missed it "all troops are combat troops" in this little shinding. Because of this, we'll be back in there.

1 There is no winning a civil war - especially when you are standing in the middle getting shot at by both sides. Yes all troops are combat troops. Realize there should be a contingent for the embassy when there is one. The rest should come home if they are national guard, or be redeployed to Afghanistan, if they still have available time in their rotation. Hope the tripe you didn't support wasn't veterans care, etc.? |

1 Not so easily done. It been estimated that it will take three years to withdraw all US forces from Iraq due to all the equipment that has to be dis-assembled and moved. Certianly we should start drawing down resources form the areas that take the most time to remove troops from. |

1 With the new presidential elections in US coming in November, the Iranian regime and Saudi Arabia King Abdullah cannot hide their support for the left wing liberal loser Barack Obama that promised ‘to cut and run’ from Iraq and promised the surrendering Iraq to the rule of the Iranian regime. Clearly, US troops withdrawal from Iraq will rapidly bring Iraq government of Maliki under the rule of Iranian regime that rules Islamic terrorist bases within Iraq by its Islamic terrorists’ proxies including the Mehdi Army and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, which means that US will be ousted from the Middle East and will need to beg for oil from the Iranian regime, leading to US economy rapid crumbling. In addition, US troops leaving Iraq means that Iranian regime will be free to threaten the entire Middle East with nukes and dirty bombs in the hands of the Iranian ruled Islamic terrorists all over the Middle East that will lead to destabilizing of the entire Middle East. Our brave US troops under the great General Petraeus are victorious in their war in Iraq where they defeated the dangerous Saddam and his WMDs, defeated the Islamic terrorists of Al Qaida and the Islamic terrorists under Ahmadinajad, rebuilt Iraq oil rigs and instituted the government of Maliki. Nevertheless, there was a huge sacrifice of US troops lives since April 2003 to achieve the victory over the Islamic terrorists and US need not leave Iraq empty handed for the interests of radical Islamic regimes of Saudi Arabia and that are cooperating to destroy US economy with high oil prices and monopoly on oil production in the Middle East. Obviously, US need to respect Iraq sovereignty on one hand but US cannot trash all its achievements in Iraq by rapid withdrawal of US troops that will create vacuum in Iraq that will be filled by the Iranian regime Islamic terrorists. |

1 It's a pretty retarded one, that's for sure. Maybe a REALLY early steam-powered one built by the nazis to stop Goebbels fingers getting hurt by the type-writer keys ? Seriously, you are so far out on the lunatic fringe that I think you've actually slipped off. It don't get much more clueless than you, pard. Try and respond to this, so I can see that it's a living, breathing human, and not a mindless drone with stilted grammar and a dictionary of "Reichwing propaganda buzz-words" that's posting here. heck, I can talk.....LOL |
