I thought people who drowned floated on top of the water.

Does it take a few days to ripen up in order to float?

Just curious, if someone knows.

Bodies sink for the first few days. Depending on temperature of the water, what the person ate or drank that day, it could be three days before the body floats. It takes longer if the water is cold, or if the person didn't eat any gassy foods (i.e. pizza, beer).

Its stupid to drink alchohol while floating (regardless of the size of the boat). Darwin gains a point.

NO matter what happened it was "STUPID" David, David, David, you KNEW you was not to drink, You had been so good not drinking. You knew better, we bragged so many times that you had quit. We will miss you and we will keep in touch with your family, especially Nikki.,

My Thought's an prayers go out Dave's family, especially Nikki. We all will truly miss Dave. I wish i knew why Dave was left alone on the dock alone? right after experiencing a problem, by falling overboard in the first place? Maby a judgement error? He had to be cold sitting wet on a dock off the lake in March. But the truth of the matter:When GOD calls for us an im confident GOD called for Dave now GOD has a new best friend. WE LOVED YOU DAVE!! You will truly be missed bt so so many friends.

As much as I want to ache with you over the loss of Dave, I must take issue with God getting the blame for this. The REAL TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS, God is not the taker of life but the giver. Why is it when people make bad choices and suffer unfortunate outcomes, God gets the blame for "calling them home"? Yes, if Dave was a Christian, he is home with the Lord now, but if he had made better choices, he would still be here.

My Uncle explained that the cells within the body start to break down and as they break down, they emit CO2 which then rises. Time is based on how heavy the body is at the time but more from a body mass weight.

No where did I see the mention of alcohol in the short report I read. You people are hateful. This was someone's son, father, brother, and friend and to talk about him bloating up and floating is cruel to those who are seeking solace. Rip me apart for saying this if you want - I did not know the man but if this is the way you treat someone who has died, I feel really sorry for you. You must lead sad lives.

The party was on the boat.Dave was in the reservoir drowning if you wish to be technical.
