Great!!! Now we can get rid of Williams and move on.$179K per year for this joker and the take back Perry people are complaining about the board wasting money. The teachers who do the work would love a salary close to this and they actually work.

SSDD.

Again...little to no real information about what he's done or didn't do. How long and how much does it cost to get some of this stuff out in the open?

I challenge you to find someone who is running a business the size of Perry Township who is making only $179,000 a year. And if you think he doesn't work, think again. He puts in longer hours than you or I do, I'll bet.
Dr. Williams has been instrumental in the constant forward movement of the relationship between the PEA and the district. Think what you like, but Perry Township is losing a great asset in Dr. Williams. It's a shame. |
Yes, lot's of money wasted. They could have let Williams serve out his contract, not renew it, problem, whatever it is, is solved. But no, there has to be a show of power by the board, no matter the little thing like taxpayer money down the drain. Fine example for the children exposed to this soap opera, not to mention the negative publicity garnered by Perry Township. |
The teachers would also love a board that they had confidence in. |
If they want money like that, then tell them to actually teach our kids instead of moving the dumb ones to the next grade after sitting in summer school doing nothing...
They are holding back kids who actually want to learn something. Can't wait for the next election to get rid of these idiots. |

I agree. I suppose I've probably read 8 or 9 articles on this subject and I still have no idea what precipitated this whole mess. It's never made any sense to me. Does anybody out there know? Are there even any rumors? I don't understand how this can be such a public ruckus when the public doesn't even know why the battle is going on in the first place. |
I work from 5:30am-8:00pm...He no work hours more than me...Me work hard for da money... |
I disagree - if you're going to fire someone in the middle of a school year, you'd better have a good reason. It's been six months without an articulated reason. That tells me there isn't one. I'm welcome to someone explaining what's up. |
First and most important although we may disagree on some points I do RESPECT you right to your view and your right and duty to stand up for it. However I wouldn't bet on who works longer or has more responsibility because it's one you just might lose. Just because I disagree does not mean I don't understand long hours, job responsibility and yes international pressures. So let's just both of us leave this point alone. As for name some people well, Mayor of Indianapolis, Governor of the State, all major state elected office holders etc. Don't compare to private sector because public service has not and sure not be compared. I once was a higher official and left for more money in the private sector, but still agree the public sector is about service not money. When it becomes about money it is (like I did) time to money on. You can't serve the people and yourself at the same time, something needs to come first. |

If I'm Dr. Williams I ask where the proof of any wrongdoing is. If they don't come up with any substantial proof I would stick it out and keep collecting my 179K. Or I might just sue the township for millions for defamation and his inability to find new work. I think an equitable solution would be some type of buyout in exchange for the resignation of gang of four. That way Perry Township could actually start fresh.
But I assume that since restoring any kind of confidence in the district is not foremost on the minds the gang that reasonable solution will never be met. |

And who would want to work with a board full of backstabbers and nitpickers and me-me-me agenda drivers?
Why don't you people understand that you are NEVER going to have the full story here. NEVER. If they are going to make "a deal" with Williams or "explore" cancelling his contract, don't you think he'd be smart enough to say, don't let any of this out? He is pretty good at coverups and conspiracies...I wouldn't put it past him to ask for that if that is what it comes to. Why don't you all email him and send him letters and ask him. The board is not talking for a reason.
No, no, we don't disagree at all. I want to know what's up, too. |
He already knows what his wrongdoings are...he just doesn't want you (the public) to know. That's not the board's fault. |
Maybe we'll find out at the May 9th hearing? That is why the lawsuit was filed right? Or one of the many many many reasons. |
Well, that point of reasoning could be argued by both sides. If they're going to make a "deal" as this article states then the Board could be trying to save face to. Your point doesn't hold water. |
Yep, we agree. The reason they aren't talking is because they have nothing but their own personal issues. This all started when the board (namely, 4 people on the board) wanted to do the superintendents job. Lets face it, none of them are qualified to be a super and they have no business taking over his job. They tried to force him to let them do his job and he said "no". Nancy Walsh doesn't respond to the word "no" (and anyone who has had dealings with her knows this). Once he stood up to them and said, "you do your job, I'll do mine", they put him on paid leave (deciding this not during a board meeting, but just amongst the "4", which is a violation of state law). Since then, they've spent countless thousands on two lawyers trying to come up with a way to justify firing him and the lawyers haven't come up with anything to justify his contract being terminated. This has been all about "how can we fire him and him not win a lawsuit against us for wrongful termination" and the board has obviously lost that battle. Their ONLY recourse is to buy out his contract. The pro-board folks who are somehow trying to claim this as a victory are just looking foolish removing the egg from their faces. A "victory" would be them firing him, which has been the predicted result of the pro-board folk all along. This whole time we've been told, "oh you wait, the truth will come out and he'll be canned" and that's not what's happening, folks. Nothing is coming out because there IS nothing to justify his termination. Now the board will end up paying this guy a huge chunk of change just to try and save face. Folks, that's not a victory for the board, that's a huge victory for Williams. Now he can pocket that and move on from this mess . Once again, we, the taxpayers, have been screwed by the board. It's just that simple. I wonder what the public would have thought if last November the board would have come out and said, "ok we're just going to pay this guy for the other 2 1/2 years and then hire someone else and pay them for the same timeframe"? That's what happened. You can try and paint it however you want but the facts are the facts. Prove otherwise. |
There is still a lot of speculation here and no facts. The whole situation stinks from both sides of the fence. My opinion is exactly the same as it was from the first day. Get rid of them all and start fresh.
At this point I really hope the Superintendent doesn't come back and the majority of the Board members resign. There are obvious issues with all involved. |
