Because those who advocate on behalf of ILLEGAL aliens HAVE to play the "race card" because that's all they have.

There are no possible FACTS that can support the continued presence and employment of 12-20 million ILLEGAL aliens in our country.

Senate Bill 335 addresses what most Americans agree is one of the top three most serious issues facing our country today: illegal immigration and the all-out assault on the most fundamental American value of all; the "Rule of Law".

I am a 60 year old native Hoosier and a small business owner. I am a veteran of both the Air Force and the U.S. Army, and I am a retired officer of the U.S. Customs Service, and as such, I believe I have a unique perspective on the impact of illegal immigration.

I have spent a lifetime defending others who couldn't defend themselves. I have served as an Equal Employment Opportunity officer fighting discrimination in the workplace.

I have raised two bi-racial sons; one is of Chinese descent and the other is a member of the Cherokee Nation. Yet, I have been called a racist, a NAZI, a Klansman, and other names to vile to put into the record. Why? Because I had the audacity to demand that our borders are secured and our laws enforced.

The reason race is raised as an issue by those who advocate on behalf of illegal aliens can best be explained in a statement made by University of Texas professor and political activist, Alfredo Gutierrez, who said; "We call things racism just to get attention. We reduce complicated problems to racism, not because it is racism, but because it works."

Because of the legacy of slavery and racism in America, we are sensitive to cries of 'racism'. Real Americans are offended by racism and reject it and those that advocate it. They are equally offended when someone plays the 'race card' to 'get attention' or to leverage an otherwise unpopular position.

The United States is the most successful multi-ethnic nation in history. It has united immigrants and their descendants from all over the world around a commitment to democratic ideals and constitutional principles. Those ideals and principles have been embraced by persons from an extraordinary variety of religious and ethnic backgrounds, partly because they permit and protect religious and cultural diversity within a framework of national political unity.

The illegal aliens who invade our country, by their own illegal act, attack our fundamental ideals and principles, and endanger the future of America. They don't hesitate to play the 'race card' to validate their own illegal actions. They attack the very principle that has made America great - they attack the "Rule of Law"!

The issue is not about race; it's about the "Rule of Law" and whether we are going to continue as a Nation of Laws.

Senate Bill 335 strikes directly at the heart of the illegal immigration problem, the "jobs magnet". But for the "jobs magnet" there wouldn't be an illegal immigration problem in the first place.

All these demands for amesty are racist.

Our immigration law provides quotas for all countries so all Americans have a chance to bring their families and ethnic group into the USA.

The illegals and their supports want A HUGE PREFERENCE for Hipsanics in the number and timing of having their family and race in the USA, over ALL OTHER AMERICAN.

That is discrimination. Our consitution does not allow laws to discriminate and all Americans are entitled to the equal protection of the law.

Enough of the Hispanics thinking they are entitled to more and better than anyone else.

You are absolutely right about the illegals cynical use of racism to try and make Americans cower to their demands.

It was obvious that some group, probably La Raza, had told all its members that if they were interviewed by the press, metion hate and racism. Some did in the most nonsensical parts of their conversation, it was a hoot!

I've decided that each time one of the illegal supporters plays the race card, I will point out that it is not only not true, but such false alleagations are a "smelly argument". Because it is, it demeans those that make it.

But the illegal crowd seem to have moved past the name calling stage, which they are frustrated about because it did not work, and now are on the "let's be reasonable" kick. Of course, the only reasonable point of view is theirs for amnesty, and if you don't agree you are hysterical and unreasonable.

PR firms must be making a fortune off these guys.

Read up on some history, fools. Who initiated the Bracero program? Who recruits south of the border? Who packs your meat? Who works your fields? Who buses your tables? I hope all the migrants do stop doing all this work. And you will realize that you do not, in fact, live in a country of cheap and easy goods. You can all argue over this issue but, it's to late. The border is still open and thousands come into the USA every day and night. Not to mention we (the USA) rely on China for just about everything. If we didn't have nukes there would be no USA. I remember my grandfather telling me back in the 60's "One day China will own us" and guess what? they do. That on top of the borders being wide open is just icing on the cake. Do some home work and see how many Americans have become victims of illegals. It's really sad that our once great country that ran on it's own is now in the condition that it is. I don't think it will get any better.

The reason illegals take jobs Americans "don't want to do" is because they are willing to work for a subsistence wage that is in any case more than they would make back home. If every illegal immigrant disappeared tomorrow, Americans would fill the jobs at a decent wage. The influx of workers from Mexico drives down wages by virtue of simple supply and demand economics.

I wasn't born 200 years ago, and I refuse to take responsibility for those who were. Do you believe reparations<sp?> should be made to an African-American simply because their great-great-great-grandfather was a slave? I think Matt, Mike and Nixx should purchase a home, invite ILLEGAL families to live there. They can take care of all their needs! The ILLEGALS can cook their hamburgers, mow their lawn, pick their lettuce and all the other jobs that Matt, Mike and Nixx won't do! In return, Matt, Mike and Nixx can take care of the ILLEGAL family's medical, housing, education and any other "entitlements" they demand! It's a nice theory but I can tell you, I used to manage a restaurant, and I paid everyone the same. I rarely had any Americans apply for a job, and when they did and I hired them, they rarely worked hard. I know it sounds generalized, but these are facts from my experience. Hispanic workers show up to work, they don't call off, they don't come in with hangovers, they aren't lazy, they aren't rude. They are very hard working, polite, sincere people who care about making a living. So my point is that yes, we should protect the border, and have a guest worker program. But, just because the federal gov't failed to pass a reform bill, that shouldn't mean that Indiana needs to try to do it. It is a fedreral problem. We can't start kicking people out, we shouldn't deny giving driver's licenses out, they still drive. Which brings up another point. What happens to all the precious revenue that Carmel gets from arresting Hispanics without drivers licenses. Show up to traffic court in Carmel, and you'll see. That is all they care about there.

I really think, that many people have no clue what they are talking about. They see Mexicans everywhere and they can't accept it. they really aren't informed at all, they are speaking based on their hate or intolerance.
