The three members who voted against placing Williams on leave objected to Adams reading aloud the timeline of events she said led to Williams' fate. Member Steve Maple asked Adams to stop reading and said the timeline was not factual, but she said he was out of order and continued to read.
At which point Maple said "I know you are but what am I!?!". He then placed his hands over his ears repeating "NAH NAH NAH, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!". Adams and her 3 lackeys were left no choice but to grab their ball and go home.

Are these people on the student council at the middle school? Such behavior is very concerning! These are the people that are making decisions that concern our children.

What's the real story here? There seems to be a large missing piece from this story. Did someone not get promoted to the next grade? Someone lose a popularity contest?

GROW UP ALL OF YOU. One doesn't solve problems by walking out or by heckling someone trying to speak. What kind of example are you setting for your children?

This article doesn't do that meeting justice. It doesn't explain the ranting done by the board members. And, it makes it sound like the suspension of the superintendent is the major issue. But, that is not the case. The major issue is the way the board members are acting and abusing their positions without respect for the entire school community.

Never have I seen a group of adults(?) behave in the way the 4 ladies did last evening. It was OK for the audience and other Board Members to listen to them but when anyone else started to speak-they silenced them. The timeline of events were borderline PERSONNEL statements-that should not been presented in that manner from the board president ...and most statements were a her "personal opinion" -HOW sad that they left and did not give the time to listen to what the public had to say???There is always an excuse and "they too like to point fingers to everyone else but themselves".

If the paper is going to mention heckling from the audience, I think it is only appropriate that it also mention the mocking and sarcastic tones from the board president and vice president throughout the entire meeting. Also, did the reporter stay at the meeting long enough to know that the other three members of the board and interim superintendent stayed after the meeting to actually listen to the public. Everything was calm and respectful after the four members left. The public just wanted a chance to talk and it was a nice change to at least have a few public officials willing to listen.

I was thinking the same thing! I live in Perry Township, but do not yet have school-aged children. This certainly makes me think twice about living here when I do though!

The big question is this... Are the rules and by laws regarding the school board and the superintendent being followed? An impartial outside party needs to look into that idea and present a finding to the community. That way the community can know if things have been done on the up and up!

I was actually at the meeting last night - This has got to stop or our children are going to be hurt. The meeting got out of hand when President Adams started using her saracstic tones and placing blame on everybody else but where the biggest part of the blame goes to the school board (well at least part of them). As usual, the media is only giving one side. Yes the audience did clap and stand up on several occassions but it was because Ms. Adams was not telling the whole story. After they left, citizens and teachers spoke - let me tell you I wish the four who walked out would have heard the first few people talk. I left because it was getting late and I needed to get home but one Southport teacher gave the facts of the graduation rates in Perry - apparantely Susan Adams did not do her homework - just blaming the teachers and administrators (take note teachers) and another teacher said many of our great teachers are updating their resumes!!

THIS HAS TO STOP NOW!! We do not want to loose our good teachers in Perry township.

Not everybody is going to agree on everything but I have never in my life seen anything like this before. We are adults and need to act like adults.

When you listen to Ms. Adams' reasoning to remove Doug Williams, they were very petty - what we have is personality differences and what I have seen/heard cannot be worked out. I am afraid we are doomed until the next election.

Oh by the way, Ms. Walsh I see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree - your mother needs to get some class.

There seems to be some "abuse of power" on the part of the School Board president and her lackeys. Dr. Williams is an award-winning school administrator. Did he just turn bad all of a sudden or did Adams' kid get sent to detention? Sounds like there's some vindictiveness here.

The article is not complete, that is why at the end it states..."This story will be updated in Thursday's South Indy Star."

Please Steve Maple or other members of the board--make a motion to have the president and VP removed from the "office" and have a re-election for those positions--do not let them vote per rule "if someone is removed from office due to an impeachment vote the are barred from nominating or voting for there replacement" If you won't ask for comments from the floor and I will bring it up
