Rider is basically another mouthpiece for the Mayor. Looking at his Campaign Finance Form for the primary, one can find some revealing facts, and connections.
Bruce Cordingley, Gerald Pedigo, and Phillip Stoffregen each gave $1000 to the Rider campaign. Guess where they are all connected? To PEDCOR, the same development company "partnered" with the Carmel CRC to build City Center, and other projects. Cordingley is President, Pedigo is a Director with a 10%+ stake, and Stoffregen is the Executive Vice President. Does this tell anyone anything? I discovered this information about these individuals from SEC public records.

Another interesting contribution is from the Sharp for Council Committee, also for $1000. What can be said about that? Could it be that Sharp is giving his campaign fund to these other candidates with promises that if he has a hot contest in November that he will be reimbursed big time? Maybe some folks out there might be able to answer these questions.
The real issue here is that for seemingly no other reason, why are major contributors of Brainard now helping finance the Rider campaign? If you listen to Rider's campaign spiel, you can almost see a match to the Mayor's political pitches, and excuses for everything whether it be for the debt, TIFs, City Center, Park...the whole shebang.
Could it be that Rider was recruited in an attempt to get Rattermann off the Council? Would it not be better for the Mayor to stack his Council up with his rubber stamping friends so that he could continue his unbridled "vision" for another four years? What real benefit would Carmel have if Rider, as a firm Brainard ally, was elected?
See his campaign finance report....

TIME FOR A CHANGE...FOR GOODNESS SAKES!
Marnin, you weren't in Carmel for the last election but this exactly how it was done then as well. Brainard hand picked Griffiths, Mayo, Sharp, Ratterman, Glaser, Carter, Kirby. He hand picked ALL of them and funded ALL of them. Initially Ratterman and Glaser where Brainard guys too. After working with the mayor and seeing what happens behind closed doors did they realize what a scam this mayor is and decided to bail from the slate and vote their own way on the council. Now Brainard is trying to do exactly the same thing with Woody and Phiebes.
History repeats itself.

I can only hope Carmel voters will rise up and oust this cast of characters. I'm telling you, if Brainard is gone you won't believe the information that will come screaming out of city hall with regard to graft, ethics violations etc. But people are only going to talk if they know Brainard can't hurt them.

Also, watch your back Marnin, Brainard has known to hire investigators to glean information on opposition candidates and opposing citizens. This happened to people I know during the last election and I'm sure that it is happening again now.

Oh and one more thing. The city showed up at LArry Fritz's place of business and cited him for bogus ordinance violations! That is what happens when you oppose the mayor of Carmel. Disgusting!

I have heard this as well, I would not put it pass him to do this.

It amazes me that a man has to lower himself to this kind of behavior.

You would think for one that is "all" about class, has none

Thanks for the warning "Enough." But, I come from some big cities, and I know about the game playing that comes with campaigning, and electioneering. The problem is that most people here truly are afraid to speak up, but if they did so in droves then it could overwhelm any issues of harassment, libel, slander, etc.

If Brainard does involve himself in such shenanigans, which I hope is not true, then there is such a thing as quid pro quo, and I for one am not the type of individual who will just lay down for it. You learn a lot of interesting political lessons in the big City, and if people play games, then they have to concede the possibility that some things can get exposed on their side. I don't like to play games, and I hope I don't see any of them here in Carmel. Remember, this is supposed to be a "nationally praised city," uh, right?

If that story about Fritz is true, then he should make complaints to the appropriate state departments. If harassment is an issue with him, then he can seek remedies. It is a shame that some tactics are used to discredit people, and that doesn't say much for any person who utilizes them in order to achieve some end, wouldn't you say?

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Capricorn

Someone is in a finger-wagging mood and unfortunately they seem to be concentrating on you! Maybe they think you've fallen from grace for some reason, or perhaps you're simply the only person who happens to be around when they feel like letting off steam. Do your best not to fall into an equally critical and disgruntled mood, because it will soon make you feel wretched.
