What's next - allowing people to marry horses? Allowing them to marry children? Allowing them to marry vegetables? Because these are all what will certainly happen if we start down this slippery slope. Haven't we already done enough damage to the sanctity of marriage by legalizing divorce?

AND they love their families and many of them (including me) attend church. We are normal just like you lady, and we're not going away. But we do like living in cities and states where we don't have to fear for our jobs or rights because of people like you. But I'm not leaving, I'm moving back to your area and I'm going to fight for our rights against people like you. YOUR personal religious beliefs do not get to be the law, we all get to live here too. So get over yourselves. Your morality is not everyone else's.

They wrongly state that people will not come here because we are not inclusionists? They forget that the majority of America BY FAR supports this amendment. This amendment simply states that only a man and a woman can be married. That is what the vast majority want. These liberal biased messages that the CEO of Lilly and Mr. Smulyan want to spread to try and strike fear into our workers is purely political bias. I used to love WIBC. I now will never listen again! I will have to only watch the Colts because I will never support or buy ads again from WIBC. Let's hit them in the pocket book and make Smulyan have to sell the company! ANd why is the majority so right? Are you making a graven image of your view of political process? What the majority wants must be tempered with protecting the minority. If you can show a compelling reason to discriminate, go ahead. If it's because you don't like Gays and lesbian, then the legistlature is duty bound to reject the amendment. I bet you can't find a single argument against equal Marriage Rights/Rites, except "I don't like them" or "My God doesn't either"

I support the notion that marriange is between a man and a woman. That is how God instituted marriage. It was not between a man and man, nor a woman and woman. If people choose to live alternate lifestyles, that is their right. But don't try to force changes just because of your choice to live this way. We need to stand firm and stand to uphold God's blessing of marriage. IMHO

So, why should their religious doctrines apply to you as a free American? Some day the tables may turn, fmy riend. Christianity is on the decline. And won't it be ironic when Christians are the ones being persecuted? You are not called upon as Christians to legislate your morals. If you understood your religion at all, you would know this. Oh, and animals cannot consent. Homosexual relationships are between two consenting adults. Ergo, you don't have to worry about people marrying their dogs (or children). Consent, consent, consent. It’s an important thing you should really try and grasp. May your emotions stop clouding your judgment...

I have a question too...
Marriage between believers and non-believers is a sin according to the bible. Why no constitutional ammendment trying to ban them from marrying? Why only homosexuals? A sin, is a sin, is a sin. Right?
Look forward to hearing your Christian responses.

Gay marriage should be allowed. What should not be allowed is for hot women to be married. They should have to share that goodness for all guys for the rest of their lives.

Ummm... this is really a non sequitur. We are talking about a person loving and supporting another person. Do either animals or vegetables have free will or the power to make a verbal and conscious choice to enter a relationship? You have no argument here, it's actually quite laughable.

When did God put you in charge of other people's lifestyles? If you decide next month that all women wear burqas, does that mean they'll be on sale at Macy's? If it has no direct effect on your life, and this issue doesn't, get over it. I'm not a Christian, but I have studied the Judeo-Christian Holy Bible, and I vaguely remember a phrase. What was it? Something like, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." The idea that somehow the "sanctity of marriage" is under attack if certain people ask the government for legal rights extended to other people is absolutely absurd. Stop interfering in other people's lives!

This is just the fodder that comes from the Bible sect of this state. They can't have an intelligent discussion of the issues at hand, but on the other hand make stupid, idiotic and moronic statements like above. All you have to do is read what this person wrote in this forum and know where these comments are coming from. It surely is not from an intelligence and knowledgeable citizenry, but someone who is lead by the evils of the pulpit. What I have said before and will always believe is that many great nations during history were destroyed because of radical religions and many more will be destroyed in the future. I only have one statement to make - JESUS, PLEASE PROTECT ME FROM YOUR FOLLOWER! Thank you Jeff Smulyan for having the brains and the guts to recognize what is just in this society!
