All the more reason to be a pioneer and not only reject the same sex marriage ban, but to constitutionally ALLOW same sex marriage. People are always worried about Indiana's economy, and when the three largest employers talk about not being able to find or retain employees, thus, most likely, leaving the state, that will only hurt the economy. Reject the ban, and allow gay marriage.

since when did diverse mean supporting immoral lifestyles, what about the workers you could recruit who would come here because of the amendment. What dont people understand? God says it is an abomination !!! what's next people marrying animals? come on ! lets stand up for something..the reason we even have to have this as an issue is because society now pretty much goes along with anything..

A letter to the editor, yesterday, said it all. 100's and even 1000's of jobs have businesses behind them, committed to coming to Indiana. They are coming here because of the traditional family atmosphere here. It's good for business.
These few businesses who want to hire people who commit attempted-sex acts with people the same gender, and allow them marital rights, are in the vast minority. A woman who through unnatural means wants to "be a man" for another woman, and be over her in authority...a man who through feces-saturated means wants to "be a man" for another man...if that is not against God and nature, what is. What is more sickening, or disease-provoking...85% of these men have Hepatitis B, according to statistics.
And how many have died of AIDS???
May God have mercy on whom He will.
Thank God it's not me in that situation! I've been bad enough, but thank God it didn't go that far!! Thank you, Jesus!
Pray for them, don't help them stay in that!!!

I am ashamed of the business leaders that asbsolutely attack an amendment the strong majority of Hoosiers want passed. They wrongly state that people will not come here because we are not inclusionists? They forget that the majority of America BY FAR supports this amendment. This amendment simply states that only a man and a woman can be married. That is what the vast majority want. These liberal biased messages that the CEO of Lilly and Mr. Smulyan want to spread to try and strike fear into our workers is purely political bias. I used to love WIBC. I now will never listen again! I will have to only watch the Colts because I will never support or buy ads again from WIBC. Let's hit them in the pocket book and make Smulyan have to sell the company!

Way to go, Jeff! Bigotry should not be accepted. If they want to say marriage is between a man and woman, fine. But don't take away gay people's RIGHTS to have civil unions if they ever legalize them. They do nothing to hurt marriage and only serve to strengthen gay families, especially those with children. By the way, I went to high school with you.

If this amendment passes, all of the rational people and businesses will leave town and the religious right can fulfill their dream of turning the great state of Indiana back into a 1700's style southern colony of uneducated, bigoted, god-fearing morons.

First, you do realize that the ONLY determining factor in where a decent-sized business locates or relocates is the tax-breaks and other benefits offered by the locality.

Second, the issue is hand is not the sex acts of these homosexuals... it's the rights of homosexuals as HUMAN BEINGS! What they do behind closed doors is none of your business.

And finally, as I've pointed out several times before, statistics that you pull out of the Daily Christian Monitor are not the same as actual facts. 85% of homosexuals do not have Hep. B. And As far as AIDS goes, there are more hetero WOMEN in this country living with AIDS than there are gay men.

Now don't ever speak again. It's for the best.
just wondering

Why is this news? Did you notice the star never runs articles when businesses support the ban? Emmis probably doesn't even make the top 100 employers in Indiana (they only employ 1500 people NATIONWIDE!! Ask the guy who owns a factory in Jasper what HE thinks of the ban. This is cherry picking news if I've ever seen it. So there are 4 gay people currently living in California who wouldn't come to Indiana to work for Emmis now...I hardly think this puts them at a competitive disadvantage.

Well, that didn't take long, now did it? Not 6 comments in, we have intolerance, bigotry and hatred, all in one tidy little package. Got yourself a trifecta, don indy and Marilyn, don't ya?

Do none of you understand that Lilly and Emmis are two of the LARGEST employers in Indiana. Those two alone leaving would cause a tidal wave of economic loss in Indiana. Not only would the jobs be lost, the taxes raised by the homes they own, the list goes on. Then the impact of two of them leaving would cause hundreds of other companies to reconsider moving here. Get your noe out of the Bible for a minute and think abut the job loss Indiana would suffer were they to leave, hm?

The only place that your "god" says anything about homosexuality is in THE OLD TESTAMENT. Are you Jewish? If so, then you have every right to make your rant. If you're not Jewish, then you should probably close your mouth. Deuteronomy basically says that everything except praying is a sin against god: doing laundry, eating sea creatures, masturbating, having sex for any purpose except procriating, etc.

Good try though on that hate propaganda...
