A very unfortunate incident. I bet someone's gonna complain the Police used excessive force. Its sad that man had to die but what other choice did the Police have? That man could have stabbed the child or anyone else for that matter.

Sad, true enough and I am assuming the 11 month old he initially had in his arms was at some point and time released from his grasp........ the paper didn't say!

What is the saddest is people like pfft.

Who are so insecure and lsot without any hope they have to pick on soemone else to make themselves feel bigger.

Its people like him that hate God because of what someone else had done to them in their life. They then hide behind a agenda , behind their false god which could be just about anything.

Atheism is a god in itself for they worship it against all else.

If you all dont believe in god why do you so much try your best to attack our Awesonme God then...?

Oxymoran...

Its people like this person who was murderous and out of control that need to be dealt with. and quickly.

not 20 years on death row.
only to possibly be let go due to some heartfelt victimized jury that thinks that such a person can actually change on his own. Or because he was abused as a child it wasnt his fault...
Hogwash...
and you can bet your penny that I voted for our great President G.W.Bush.
anyone can be a armchair quarterback, but not many the quarter back himself. Our President did the best he could, with heqrt felt convictions behind just about every decision.

Its just the majority of the people and the society we live in today have No backbone, no conviction, no character and no pride to stand behind oour great USA.
Just take a look back into History and see how WW 2 was. and how the people stood behind our country our soldiers and our president. They new when it was time to come together, for they truly were the greatest generation in the history of our country.
People such as the liberals the tree huggers and owl worshipers, the planned paenthood bunch that have killed over 1.4 billion babies since Roe vs.Wade
Tell me how do you people sleep at night.
Im outta here..........

You can be sure the family will sue the greenwood police department, as did the last families when officer's were shot. How pitiful is it that Criminals even have that option.. or their families.. does no one see that if the man had not put himself and others in danger the police would not have been called but due to his own choices they had to protect the public. People that say negative things about the police will surely still want them right next to them protecting their lives if someone were threatening them with a gun. My prayers go out to all the families but especially the officer's who I am sure did all they could before resorting to deadly force.

This was a very sad night. It really hit close to home, it was just across the street from where I live. Its a quiet place and I never thought something like this could happen.

Where was the child when police fired? You didn't mention the baby again. The report said the man was holding the child and then, nothing more.

The man everyone is referring to in the article is Brian and he was my brother-in-law. I think what everyone is forgetting is that there are children involved. Not only the ones that were involved in the incident but others that are sitting at home reading the comments viewers are leaving about how "glad" they are their father is dead..... How as adults do you think this will help these chilren get through this time of tragedy? The news wants to protrey the bad, but does not want to protrey his good. I am sorry this happened and people were injured, but he does have a family also that is greiving.

He obviously was not thinking of his family when he was threatening to kill these people and putting a knife to a baby and setting fires putting other families not even involved out of their home for his stupidity. Family or not, he was wrong, and people will have their opinions.

When a man attempts to murder his girlfriend and her 2 children, running 2 of them down in a car, stabbing a woman, setting fire to an apartment building while holding an innocent, and beautiful baby girl at knife point, obviously planning to either stab her, or burn her up, along with the other residents who lived in said building that was burning up all that they have, what kind of image do you expect the media to portray? Should we all say, oh, well, he must have been having a bad. We're sure he was really a SWELL GUY! Give me a break. I'll say prayers for his children who are also innocent victims of his insanity and murderous actions, although fortunately for them and your family, they were not directly physically attacked, and will not bear the physical and emotional scars of the events of last night in their nightmares forever.

BRIAN deserves no commpassion....my sister and neices didn't get any from him! I was there....running alongside my sister and neice and daughter....I seen the way Brian gunned the Gas and swerved right towards her and her daughter!! His children are lucky that hey;ll never be faced with the phsycotic things their father was capable of doing to the people he was supposed to love!
