I attended the event. Fred Thompson was deflating and deflated. He was also somewhat unfocused. I really don't believe that he has the fire in his belly to make a successful run. I believe that he has been way over-hyped.

stanford,
you hit the nail on the head. Thompson does not appear to have the fire in his belly that the other candidates do. I think that people are "star struck" when they hear him speak because he is a hollywood movie star.

I really think people are not thinking correctly if they consider this former lobbyist and lawyer for a pro-abortion group to be our next President.Do you actually think this hollywood actor is in touch with real America??

This isn't the movies this is real life people..

What do expect he's a politician?

Just what we need another actor in politics..

In this time of political unrest in America we need a real leader in the whitehouse, not somebody just playing another role.

I actually wish Richard Luger would run, even thouh I doubt if he does.

Vote for Ron Paul. He's the only candidate in the election who will get the government out of your life and roll back the police state.

He didn't vote for the Patriot Act. How did your candidate vote?

None of the current candidates in both parties are worthy of be president. WE need to do better and must do better if we are to see the American dream continue for the next generation. We are locked in a battle unlike any we have faced before and at home we are locked in a battle of which way the nation will go. Our founding father revolted for a lot less then we are now faced with in taxes and lack of leadership in congress. Too many full time political people and to few statemens in our goverment.

I believe Fred Thompson's beliefs and voting record more align themselves with Reagan's, and that's a GOOD thing...No, that's a GREAT thing. If he can communicate with the common people, as Reagan could, then he certainly has my vote. America would be miles ahead if ANY of these candidates were elected over the socialists Clinton and Obama.

If a candidate voted against the Patriot Act, I could never for for them. All Americans want freedom from the fear of terrorist attacks, but some want to make no sacrifice to achieve it. Unbelievable.

Lugar used to be a great man. Now it would seem, he's slipping into senility and/or Alzheimer’s. He sounds more like Julia Carson than the old Richard Luger. Too bad, because I really used to respect that guy.<quoted text>
Richard Lugar has forgotten more about foreign policy than these rest of the candidates will ever know..combined. Problem is, he's not a dynamic speaker, he's not a "large presence" at a gathering, and he has a hard time sounding enthused about his subject matter, yet he would, indeed, make a good president. He's just not electable for these reasons.

I am a hard core Liberal and I make absolutely no apology for that, but I would vote for Ron Paul in a heartbeat. I am sick of everyone trying to run someone else business while not doing what they are demanding of others.

I saw all three televised and liked them all. I lean towards Romney, he gets things done, is high energy and has had a successful health care program to keep us out of "socialized Medicine" (in Mass.) He also knows how to run a budget which he was successful in doing during the Olympics which was in a horrible mess. If you haven't read his book, "TURN AROUND" , you should. He is amazing. I think he would also be excellent in getting his point over when dealing with othe countries. No "hemming and haaaing" and says alot in a very short time. He does't wear the paid shirt and drive a pick up but what you see is what you get. He is my pick. P D

I would not vote for anyone who did NOT support the Patriot Act. I am sorry if your feelings get hurt because the NSA is listening to you talk to your friends in Yemen.....deal with it!!
I would rather the US fight them overseas instead of downtown Indy.

Learn to use the Caps Lock key, we would appreciate it.

I wish we could clone Ronald Reagan and his cabinet and put them back in office. He wouldn't let the DemocRATS in Congress jack him around about the war on terror.

As for my using the caps,I am sure my message was very clear to you. But, let me repeat myself,You have to have someone to play president. It is obviously you don't have any stand up people in your party, they are busy trying to find undercover policemen in restrooms to perform oral sex on. The election will be different this time around, things you have gotten away with want happen again. We do not try to push our values on you people, but you make values your main issue, and we can check hard enough and find skeletons in all of your closets and we will be looking. BELIEVE THAT...

That adminstration sucked - Talk about out of control spending. Pur Ronnie and a GOP congress and it'd be worse than Bushy's spending habits! Grand Old Perverts
