McRoberts is one of the most overrated players I have come across in the past 20 years of watching NCAA basketball. He finished 3rd in Mr Basketball, but was the top ranked senior nationally? How does that happen? We was getting smoke blown up his ass in high school, more smoke after his first year of college and then it finally all came tumbling down after last year.

So I think he might be a decent role player in the NBA, but he isnt anyhwere near as good as Laettner was and even Laettner only had a marginally successful NBA career. Not athletic enough, not tough enough, not strong enough. He is on a team that will be very good in a few years, but honestly I would be surprised if he was still in the NBA. He never dominated one game I saw him play at Duke.

I will ALWAYS hold it against McRoberts for blowing off the Indiana All-Stars. He was over-rated in HS but he believed the hype. When he didn't get picked as Mr B-ball he took his ball and went home. When your 7 foot in HS, you can dunk on the smaller guys and do your preening bad-ass routine but that time has passed. I also don't have anthing good to say about his parents who obviously fed into his bloated ego or at the very least, did a lousy job of controlling it. He will go on to be a marginal pro player at best. The sad part is, if he was 3 inches shorter, he'd be lucky to play in Europe

I notice that none of you wasted any time not only reading about Josh, but commenting as well. Obsess much? Misinformation is a dangerous thing, particularly in the internet age.

What a lucky guy, he gets to play on a team with Greg Oden, played for Coach K, was a star at Carmel. I say good luck to him. Who cares how he acted under the scrutiny of a bunch of hilljacks from Indiana. Just because Indiana is known for Basketball, the main reason is there is nothing else to do here. You only need to win about 5 games in the playoffs to go to state. In Illinois they only have two classes and the state has twice as many high schools. So which state is really to Basketball state??? There are more Illinois players in the NBA than Indiana, what does that show????

My understanding is that he did not play in the all-star game because he was required to be on campus early. It was not an ego thing at all, it was aCoach K thing. This comes from a very close source to the family. How many of you haters will do anything more than pay for NBA tickets. By the way he is extremely athletic. You haters suck. Jealousy and negativity are so easy when you have NO facts. I challenge one of you to try and accomplish 1% of what this kid did. No he did not dominate at Duke, but he got to go for free, and who knows how long he will last in the NBA but it will be a hell of a lot longer than any of us. Try backing Indiana kids and not bashing ALL of the time.

I am not sure why we keep seeing him in the paper slow news day again.
Here is McRoberts legacy top 10

1. Never won a sectional title in high school
2. Never won a conference title in high school
3. You never even beat Noblesville when you played
4. Wasn’t even in the top in the state in scoring or rebounding
5. Josh you where lucky to get third. But since you where 7 foot and half your points where dunks over little guys you where spotted a position
6. No big wins in High School, in Fact Broad Ripple your junior year with a losing record beat you. George Hill was the true recruit in that game.
7. Senior year Eric Gordon single handedly beat you.(That’s how you take over a game)
8. Ever body get noticed when they get to play on a good team even I would of scored if I played with JJ
9. Last year you did what? And now your going to play what with who?? Oh well mommy got her BMW for you being 7 foot not a good TEAM player.
10. Please move out of Indiana its about the game not the person. You turned your back on the ALL-Stars, You turned your back on Duke I am sure Greg is your good friend. You get to be on TV because they are there watching him and you can walk into the shot??

We are THE basketball state, not because we dont have as many NBA players or more high schools than any other state, but because Indiana was the first state to make basketball relevant. First to incorporate it into the high schools, first to have state tournaments, first to make it nationally relevant.

So your rational is that whichever state has the most high schools and pumps out the most professional-level talent should be considered the state that represents that sport? You completely miss the point. Its not about what it going on NOW that gives your state that title, its what went on 100-125 years ago.....its the HISTORY.

By the way, Illinois also has about twice as many people as Indiana. For the population size, Indiana pumps out the most/best recruits of any state in the country on a yearly basis. Usually better recruits and more recruits than Illinois. Plus, Chicago is about 5 times bigger than Indy yet Indy always pumps out more talented and more quantity recruits.

Maybe McRoberts is right - the NBA isn't going to change him, because he's already a pomposs spoiled brat? Seems perfect for the "league."

Prompts on the MTV girl, though.

It shows a difference in population. Chicago has as many people as Indiana. Proportionally, Indiana has as many players in the league. And head-to-head, I can't ever remember a time whent he best team in Illinois would have beaten the best in Indiana. You may be a Madman, but your logic is just NUTS.

Indiana people are supposed to understand basketball. Yeah, Josh at 6'10" should've guarded Gordon. Oh, and Josh did have 31pts. and 15 reb. in that game. What a choke. Get a clue.
