Jobless claims continue to rise

OMG, I can't beleive this. Well, I guess I can. I have been waiting 5 weeks now for my unemployment to go through. I keep getting the run around. It could take 6-8 wks to get processed. My lights, gas and water are all on disconect notice. Went to the township trustee and was denied help since I had income last month. Well, my last income was over a month ago, they don't understand that. What is WRONG with this picture?????????? I wish someone was out there to help me and the hundreds of other moms in this same boat.

Mom, don't feel to bad yet. I filed for unemployment over two years ago and after six months of waiting was denied. I have been appealing this decision ever since, but doubt that it will ever happen. My employer gave me a reason for my job loss, but the reason they gave the state was different and my employment file at the company vanished. So it's my word against theirs and since this is Indiana, the employer always wins. I'm lucky my wife still works, but the job market is zero, I can't get hired even at minimum wage, seems my work history makes me over qualified. I work temp jobs now, two days here and there and then nothing for months, then a couple of days again. It isn't fun, but it helps a little.

The one thing I have learned about applying for a job in Indiana, you have to dumb down your resume or application, leave out a lot of your work history, and the more education you have the less you want to let an employer know about. Unless it's directly related to the job, leave it off.

Imagine a day when a dozen people living in tents will have to use guns to guard a four acre field of potato plants.

Hello i feel for you , i just got word friday that im getting laid of on 11/26. yes we can thank MITCH for part of this mess

Then pray that they do not "later" find out and fire you over lying or misrepresentation on your employment application.

I know of someone that was about to get a huge promotion and pay raise, till they discovered he lied on his employment application. From what I gather he is facing some legal issues over some of the employment benefits he received.

Well, good luck Indy Mom, because they denied mine. I should've fought it but decided I just couldn't right now. They made me think I was going to get it in the beginning, too.
