Kanyakumari is an international tourist spot in the world ,without an airport. It's very hard to digest.Gov ernment has to do some thing for keeping the name and fame of Kanyakumari growing with necessary infrastructure..........

Kanyakumari must be connected by Air. This will not only put Kanyakumari as a world destination for Tourists by air but also a definite boon for the NRI's from Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tthuthukudy and Kanyakumari districts who are currently using Trivandrum as the hub for travelling to Gulf. An Airport at Kanyakumari will considerably reduce the hardships being faced by NRI's travelling by road to Trivandrum airport.

As for as everybodys concern it is mandotary for KK as KK is growing at all point of view in past 5 years, It will be very useful to all not only the home town people, There is possibility to inrease the tourist to KK rather than the current frequency of tourist comming from other countries..

How long people of Kanyakumari have to wait?.Is the government doing something? Have they started to do something to sort out this issue? Are they waiting for elections? When will it happen? Will this be only a dream?

I don't think it is a good idea. More agricultural lands will be gone. Any good project should benefit the people living in nagercoil rather than the convenient of those NRI's who want to save a 2 hours trip from the nearby Trivandrum airport.

Tamilnadu government is being ruled by fools. They want to spend 4000 crores for a second airport in Chennai. There are underutilized airport in Tuticorin and totally unused airport in Salem. Other places like Hosur, Kanniyakumari, Vellore, Thirunelveli need to have airports for good connectivity.

Kerala has beaten Tamilnadu in terms of aviation infrastructure. All the southern states have big plans for building new airport. Karnataka layed foundation stone last week in Shimoga for a new airport. They are planning 20 new airports. Andhra is planning 10 airports. Kerala is building 2 new international airports.

Tamilnadu is stuck in Chennai alone. Shame on TN government. This second airport in Chennai is a SCAM and should be opposed in instead airports should be built in south and west Tamilnadu where there is no airport for 200km.

Sorry to differ from you, the distance of 2 hours to Trivandrum is VERY large by Indian standards. Tamilnadu's biggest weekness is airconnectivity which Kerala does not have as there is airport every 150-200km. Second most people in Gulf are Tamils and they are paying Rs 3000 extra for flying from TN. Also largest workforce in Bangalore are Tamils. Presently travel to all the southern districts are dangerous and lot of hassles with having to change from train to bus. Airport is needed in southern districts. Also Salem and other airports need to be activated.

Vellore has an airport as I know..HOSUR is very near to Banglore ,less than 50 kilometers..so I think it is not advisable
