If Pak-China ties strengthen, then India has to respond by consolidation through urbanization. It is India vs. India or urban vs. rural India. Urban India seems to be winning because India is urbanizing rapidly.

India is NOT disintegrating, but integrating through URBANIZATION. She is consolidating through urbanization. The rural sector is de-populating and the urban sector is populating.
There is a difference between rural India and urban India. There is also a difference between rural Hinduism and urban Hinduism. In rural India, everybody knows everybody's caste and try to lead caste conscious and segregated lives. In the village, castes are more segregated because sometimes different castes sometimes live in different parts of the same village. Urban India is different.

In urban India, the cities are crowded with people. It is hard for city dwellers to know the caste of everybody else in cities. In cities if you sell umbrellas, then you sell to anybody who buys, not just to people of your own caste. In cities if you buy tea, you buy from anybody who sells tea, not just from somebody of your own caste. If you board a bus, you just sit beside anybody, not just somebody of your own caste. In fact, the cities are so crowded that you are lucky if you can find a seat in the bus or train. The cities are so crowded that all castes are forced to interact with each other daily. Segregation along caste lines may be possible in villages, but impractical in cities. Caste segregation will break down in cities where the life is fast and crowded; but caste segregation can be preserved in slow moving villages.

Caste means community or clan. Different castes means different communities/clan. Hindu people prefer to marry someone of their own caste. It means that Hindu people prefer to marry someone of their own clan. To marry someone of your own clan is your human right, which should not be questioned. When someone engages in intra-caste or intra-clan marriage, you please keep your comments to your self and mind your own business.

Any way, it is very hard to maintain caste consciousness in cities as compared to villages. Cities are too fast and crowded to maintain caste consciousness. India is urbanizing rapidly.

The caste system is well documented in Hindu scriptures, but the Hindu people almost never bothered to read the Hindu scriptures. With the changing times, Hinduism will not die. On the contrary, rural Hinduism will re-invent itself and emerge as urban Hinduism. Hinduism is morphing under urbanization. There is a difference between rural Hinduism and urban Hinduism. There are two India's in this country, rural and urban. While the world is not watching, people in India are moving from one side to the other side. While the world is not watching, people are moving from rural side to the urban side. Unknown to the world, urban India is becoming more dominant socially, politically, and economically. Unknown to the world, rural Hinduism is transforming into urban Hinduism. Amitabh Bachchan is right. It is a case of India vs. India. It is a case of urban vs. rural. See video: http://www.youtube.com/watch...

It does not matter how Hinduism was explained in the scriptures. We have to see the ground realities. But we have to change with the times. Evolution. There is good news. Urbanization will bring changes to Hinduism. Currently, almost 70% of Indians live in rural India, while 30% live in urban India. In developed nations like USA, Europe, and Japan, the majority live in cities. Currently, India and China are undergoing what USA went through about a 100 years ago: URBANIZATION.

Both my parents are Indian and Hindu; I'm an evolutionist.

I have already explained in my previous posts that India is not disintegrating. The reverse is true. Indians are integrating in the cities. There is growth in the cities. The rural folks are slowly moving to the cities for a better life. The city population is increasing, while the rural population is decreasing. India is undergoing rapid urbanization. India is now consolidating through urbanization. India is now integrating through urbanization.

Most of these Maoists, separatists, and terrorists are active in remote parts of India. They can engage in attacks through hit-and-run tactics. That's all. There is not much support for them. On the contrary, it is better for the poor to relocate to areas where there is growth and opportunities: the cities. This is what the rural folks are doing to better themselves. In short, you should not wait for the economic growth to come to your village; you should move to the cities where there may be more economic opportunities and better education for your children. The rural folks who move to cities may end up in city slums. So what? It is a start; something is better than nothing. They will learn everyday and improve themselves and educate their children. The next generation of slum dwellers will buy a home and move out of the slums to, may be, low cost housing. Then the next generation of low cost housing dwellers will buy a home and move from low cost housing to middle income group housing. Then the next generation of middle income group dwellers will buy a home and move to suburbs and so on. It is a step by step process. It may take several generations and a 100 years before we can eradicate poverty in India.

It's like climbing a ladder, step by step. The step-by-step process would be village-city slums-city low cost housing-city middle income group housing-city suburbs. To move from village to suburbs would take several steps and several generations. It would require them to work long hours and save money to buy a home so that they can move to better housing. It may require them to work at two jobs so as to earn two incomes, so that they can save more money to buy a house.

No school in this world can teach you as much as life itself can. To a rural person, living in a city or city slum is an education in itself; and he/she is irreversibly changed. Even if the city slum dwellers return to the village they came from, they would still be changed by the city experience. If the government can afford it, then they should take villagers on a tour of cities once a year. The tour will be educational to the villagers; the changes to the villagers may subtle and unnoticeable, but the villagers will certainly be changed. Next, let the villagers decide whether they want to be town and city dwellers or village dwellers. Some may prefer the village, others the city. Some may succeed and some may fail. Those who succeed will inspire others to try. Those who keep trying will one day succeed.

The most important thing to remember is that, please do not wait for economic growth to reach your village. On the contrary, you should go to where the economic growth is: the cities. Indians are beginning to realize this and so the city population is swelling with migrants from the rural areas. While the world is not watching, daily, the rural folks are moving to the cities. It's a quiet revolution. India is changing daily. She is consolidating under urbanization. She is integrating under urbanization.

Many Indians live is poverty. My heart is with them. Fortunately, there is good news. The cities are growing. India is urbanizing rapidly. I have already explained that urbanization will bring consolidation to India. India is not disintegrating. India is consolidating. Indians are integrating in the urban areas. The most important thing to remember is that a rural area that has growth will attract migrants and the rural area will itself become dense enough to turn into a town or even city: and this is how towns and cities came into being.

Do you know that there is a relationship between urbanization and population control. Japan is densely populated. Japan also has the highest literacy rate in the world; and also the highest life expectancy rate in the world. Her population is barely growing. The Japanese have very few children these days. One reason is EXPENDITURE. Housing and rent is high in cities as compared to villages. So, if you remove housing and rent expenditure from the income of city dwellers, the residual income is not much. When the residual income is reduced, the parents will immediately opt to have fewer children. Children are expensive. If you have many children, it will make you poor. It is residual income that will determine how many children you choose to have. It is not good to use political power and enforcement to achieve population control. Coercion will only enrage the people. Expenditure of living in the city will work. Eventually urbanization will force the city dwellers to have fewer children.

Urbanization is happening daily by itself. In economics, the market is the people who are buyers and sellers. It is best that we leave the market alone. It means that it is best that we leave the people alone. If they want to move from one location to another, then leave them alone. Yes, they will make mistakes. We all make mistakes. But they will also learn from their mistakes and improve. Just leave the market alone. Just leave the people alone.

The good news is that there is nothing you or I have to do. Urbanization is happening by itself. Rural folks continue to move to the city daily. Yes, there is nothing you or I have to do. That's the good news. The following is a video footage produced by the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), not me.

@ Levelheaded...

Nice thinking.

Economic growth triggers mass migartion.

Once urbanization takes place a NEW IDENTITY in place of the old one in the village comes to the fore.

Social changes are taking place at a much faster pace than before...it will gain momentum as our economic progress acclerates.

US terrorist organizations with name of "Black Water","Xe" are present in Pakistani cities of Islamabad and Peshawar on the name of "privet security firm for US embassy".

Black water or Xe is like private CIA.

Pakistan,China and also Iran are aware that enemies sitting in region are involve in such incidents and want to stop our growing relations, like Gas pipelines and PAK-Iran-Turk railway service which could be extend to China.

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Leo

If you're worried about running up big debts in what is usually one of the most expensive months of the year, start keeping a running total of how much money you've spent so far. You might have to restrict the amount you spend on Christmas presents, or make other savings in order to stay within your budget, but you realize the folly of ending up severely out of pocket.
