Killing dogs is unexcusable!! Dogs rule most of the time. Dogs are always honest, unlike people. This whole story sounds like it's made up to grad attention for some reason. This story sounds really bizarre.

To bad these two brothers did not return the favor. A shotgun makes a great home defense tool.
Sorry for the loss of the dogs.

It is becoming evident that folks in ABQ must sleep with a shotgun under their beds.

The worst story so far. This is terrible. We need to rewamp the local police, they are loosing the grip. What is going on with this city, we used to never hear crazy stuff like this. The city leaders are too busy pocketing money from new developments, while regular joes fall victims to crime. Shame on the mayor, the council, and the police chief.

"When seconds count, the police are minutes away."

Can anyone read this story and doubt the necessity for people--especially in urban areas--to be armed and ready to defend themselves?

@skeptic - you are entitled to the hypothesis that the story is made up to grab attention. But you at least ought to support that with some notion of who had what to gain from the incident, if it's made-up?

I hate to remind people that the Mayor for Life who says he loves animals sent his servants to a home in Rio Rancho back around the holidays and the servant shot the family dog in the back yard.

why? because i think that the eye for an eye would give these idio** some reason to think before they shoot. it could possibly lower our crime rate. and to make everything even better:
we would not have to pay taxes for themm to sit behind 4 walls, a roof, cable tv, high school degree or college education. i'm sorry but i am tired of paying for murderers to have a good life in jail

JfromR, as usual, I have no idea what you are talking about. Sort of a Goober on Mayberry thing.

What hurts me here, is simply that anyone wouuld shoot dogs. I'm used to the fact that sociopaths shoot people; it shouuld be obvious that they would should dogs

all i was saying is that we need to start an eye for an eye, yes it is wrong but it would prolly lower crime rate, these guys for example: stick them in a cage with vicious dogs, i am sure theyll think twice about breaking into a home that has dogs.

Yes, as I only been here for only a month; I think this city needs a great deal of help. Not only the sicko's running around committing such crimes, the authority and the media. Yes we house these human animals with our tax paying money and majority get a slap on the wrist. If New Mexico would stop worrying about making the city look so good for the public eye and put more focus on the safety of the citizens who work hard as hell to live day to day; we just might get some where.

Sham on the media for making such a sight of these dogs just laying there dead so public. I myself am a dog owner/lover and if this happened to me I would have caught the basturd and made him pay, but then again the state would have punished me for those actions.

Albuquerque wake up and stop this crime spree!!!!

Why?, because we have the poverty of Mexico, the organized crime of Russia and the political corruption of Myanmar?
