WAS the fate of Garuda Indonesia flight GA-200 sealed before it slammed on to Yogyakarta runway yesterday - or was a botched landing responsible for the deadly inferno that followed?
With tens of thousands of Australians, many of them holidaymakers and honeymooners, flying Garuda every year, the question is now being asked: Is this airline serious about safety?

Survivors say the Boeing 737 was already in trouble on approach to Yogyakarta before skidding off the runway and into a rice field.

Some passengers told of a series of loud bangs and violent shaking in the moments before the crash.

And witnesses on the ground said flames shot out from the front wheel after the jet's tyre blew. Garuda safety still hangs in the air

2. Two years ago Australia learnt the hard way about Indonesia's poor air safety.
Ten Australians were among 133 passengers on Garuda Indonesia Flight 200 when it slammed on to the runway at Yogyakarta airport then skidded into a field and burst into flames on March 7, 2007.

Five Australians Liz O'Neill, Allison Sudradjat, Brice Steele, Mark Scott and Morgan Mellish were among the 21 who perished in the crash.

This week, the plane's pilot, Marwoto Komar, was found guilty of criminal negligence and sentenced to two years in prison.

Since 1980, Garuda has had the most accidents among Asia's major carriers, 21 accidents that killed 294 people. China Airlines has had 14 accidents, but more deaths: 542. Korean Air has had 15 accidents, resulting in 243 deaths. That's not counting the 269 people killed when a plane was shot down after entering Russian airspace in September 1983.

LUCU BENAR, seringkali kedengaran INDON-INDON goblok ini cuma angan-angan dan omong kosong, sedangkan hakikatnya semuanya itu cuma hayalan dalam KOTAK FIKIRAN mereka yang seperti KELDAI YANG BEBAL...

AIR ASIA baru setahun jagungnya dah terbang ke UK dan yg terbaru dapat hak mendarat di PARIS ..GARUDA INDON masih pening lalat setelah 62 tahun merdeka kah kahak hak...INDON terlebih politik..byk ckp
