Di Asia Tenggara ini malah di dunia, MALAYSIA AIRLINES (MAS), SINGAPORE AIRLINE (SIA) dan THAI AIRWAYS INTL dah tak heran dengan 5-star SKTRAX rating. MAS setiap tahun menang di dalam penganugerahan SKYTRAX. dah tak heran dah!!

GARUDA baru nak target 4 star airline? Keciannya dia...alah tiru je apa yang MAS buat. kita oerang Malayysia tak marah punya.

KONTINJEN Malaysia yang menyertai pertandingan 'World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2009 di Pohang, Korea Selatan, bergambar bersama pegawai dan guru pengiring sebaik tiba di KLIA malam kelmarin.


Ciptaan pelajar Malaysia raih dua pingat emas WRO 2009

SEPANG: Kebijaksanaan mencipta 'robot artis' membolehkan pelajar Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Methodist Tanjung Malim, Perak dan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Jalan Davidson, Kuala Lumpur muncul juara keseluruhan Kejohanan World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2009.

Dua sekolah itu memenangi dua daripada enam pingat emas yang ditawarkan dalam WRO 2009 di Pohang, Korea Selatan, pada 6 hingga 8 November lalu.

Enam pelajar cemerlang itu ialah tiga rakan sekelas, iaitu Nur Hazirah Mohd Razali, Wong Shun Yi dan Michael Goh dari SMK Methodist Tanjung Malim dan Benjamin Phang, John Leong serta Tan Cheng En, dari SJKC Jalan Davidson. Semua mereka bersaing dalam kategori terbuka peringkat sekolah rendah.

Penolong Ketua Kontinjen Malaysia, Raja Azahar Raja Sulaiman, berkata kejayaan gemilang meraih juara keseluruhan patut dikongsi seluruh rakyat.

"Saya bangga kerana pasukan Malaysia dipilih sebagai pasukan paling menghiburkan berdasarkan undian penonton WRO 2009.

"Kemenangan Malaysia juga berkat doa, kesungguhan, kerjasama berpasukan dan sokongan semua pihak terutama pelajar, guru serta pihak sekolah," katanya ketika ditemui pemberita sejurus tiba dari Korea Selatan, di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA), di sini malam kelmarin.

Empat sekolah lain yang turut mewakili Malaysia adalah SJKC Yuk Chai, Petaling Jaya, Selangor; SMK Mantin, Negeri Sembilan; SMK St Francis, Melaka dan Sekolah Menengah Sains Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Phang ketika ditemui berkata, dia dan pasukannya tidak menjangka memenangi pingat emas kerana saingan sengit pasukan tuan rumah, Korea Selatan dan China.

Bagaimanapun, katanya, kerja keras dan semangat berpasukan membantu mereka meraih pingat emas bagi kategori terbuka peringkat sekolah rendah.

"Kejayaan ini menjadi hadiah paling bermakna kepada ibu bapa, sekolah dan Syarikat Sasbadi Sdn Bhd yang banyak memberi sokongan moral kepada kami untuk menyertai kejohanan ini," katanya.

Malaysia Airlines has been named winner of the 2009 World's Best Cabin Staff award, in another closely fought contest during the World Airline Survey

"This is a quite remarkable achievement by Malaysia Airlines" said Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, "because it is the 6th time in the past decade that this prestigious accolade has been won by the airline. This is the world's largest and most respected Award to recognise Cabin Staff Service Excellence, and is a clear benchmark for the highest quality of staff onboard service".

Malaysia Airlines CEO, Idris Jala, was delighted and proud of his cabin crew, stating that "they have showcased Malaysian hospitality at its best, treating our customers as valued guests in our own home".

"The SKYTRAX Cabin Staff survey is based around asking customers to nominate their favourite airline based upon the complete quality of their onboard experience. This is more than just serving meals or tending to customer needs, since the survey assesses the all important soft-service elements of an average passenger experience. The friendliness, enthusiasm and sincerity of staff service are clear differentiators when we examine airline performance. Consistency of service remains another critical feature, since it is this which drives future purchase and loyalty decisions amongst customers" said Plaisted.

Asiana Airlines (the 2008 winner) maintained a very strong performance taking runner up spot this year, with Thai Airways moving up into 3rd place, with Singapore Airlines in 4th and Cathay Pacific Airways in 5th position.

Air Asia was also named as winner of the Best Low-Cost Airline Asia Award for 2009, ahead of JetStar Asia. "The title of Best Low-Cost Airline in Asia remains one of more competitively contested survey sections" said Edward Plaisted of Skytrax. "In the past few years, we have seen a yo-yo effect between Air Asia and JestStar Asia - and 2009 seems to be the time for Air Asia to celebrate this win!".

"We have recently seen Air Asia extend it's long haul operations (AirAsia X) to the UK, and it will interesting to see if they are able to not only sustain, but expand this long-haul low cost concept, without having to potentially transform their offerings on these routes to something more akin to full-service airlines" added Edward Plaisted. "Of course, one only needs to look at the moves by some supposed US full service airlines, charging for drinks, blankets, headsets etc, and there is in some areas little difference between their service format and the Air Asia long haul operations".
