I want to thank everyone who is working hard to get the power back on. Ours was restored Saturday at 1pm, we never expected it to come back so soon. We are very grateful, especially as we realize so many are still without.

And I'm in Crozet, not Front Royal (what do they do, just assign random towns to people?)

These power guys can't move too fast. When they get in a rush to hook things back up too quick is when they can get killed in a flash.

Maybe if Dominion execs took tree trimming seriously the outages wouldn't be so frequent and severe.....just saying.

You are just what General Abraham Lincoln told the commanding general of Weight Watchers during the Battle of the Bulge..."NUTS"! Do you really think people are going to stand for Dominion coming in their yards and telling them to cut their trees down. Of course not, even though they "Tried2tellem" about the consequences. On a serious note though...if I could get your name so I may call you to be in my cabinet after the election I would appreciate it. You are as out of touch as I am!

I am sure Dominion Power guys are working hard, but I would like to see them working hard in the EARLYSVILLE area! I think for every hour you are without power they should give you a "free" hour of electricity when it comes back on. I guess customer service isn't really necessary when you are the only game in town.

The crews are doing what they can to restore power. They've had to triage the outages, and while you may have power on the other side of the road, that doesn't mean you're going to get it right away depending on how the grid is set up. Right now they're waiting on poles, line and transformers to be shipped in, as well as spelling the crews who have now been working 3 days straight in these temps. You think being with no AC is bad, trying cutting down trees, clearing brush and pulling line in this heat.

topix lists city according to server
you can test it out with a proxy
Using firefox and a proxy list like this
http://newipnow.com/
those cities aren't accurate, put the ip address into a whois address lookup like
http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip-lookup

this one is in chicago

First, a HUGE thank you to ALL those working to restore power and get our roads safe. WE should all be grateful for your hard hard work. Second and slightly off topic, I am SO tired of most of the complaining, reporting, and restoring being focused on Crozet. I am a crozet native, now residing in Eville because I couldn't stand the community any longer...the influx there is made up of a bunch of whinning lazy people (for the most part - not all I am sure). But seriously, there are more areas than crozet that were hit by this storm...states and states.
thank you

My first statement was that I was sure they are working hard. Life has been harder for all of us since the storm. Being without the luxuary of AC is indeed an inconvenience (even life threatening in these temps), but I am also without water which is a necessity last time I checked. I also have elderly neighbors and family members that are in ill health to be concerned about, so please over look my temporary whining as I am sure it will go away once the electricity is restored.

And I'm sure you will be willing to fork out the extra money on your light bill for this to happen? Yeah right... You'd then probably be the first one to make the comment of "I don't know why they charge me more for my electricity just because they want to trim right of ways back."......just saying...

This is a good day for concentrating on activities that boost your self-esteem and sense of satisfaction.
