Who was the guys that had to do the food and make all those meals and do they work in your restaurants. Do you have your own chef or kitchen guy.

I am saddened to see that you wouild report on a company that is so out of touch with the community. I see nothing in this article that talks about the people who prepared the food and who is really behind the glue that made all of that work.

The only reason that Brent Swadley and SERT was down there in Texas and Mississippi was money. That company is fueled by how much money they can charge and how fancy the motor homes they can by. Most of the people that worked down there was NOT given a choice whether or not they wanted to go.

In your article Brent Swadley actually tried to show some emotions when the reporter talked about the family who needed ice for the medicine. The only thing that Brent Swadley was thinking of how much he could charge for that bag of ice.

Hey Gary, next time, why don't you organize the meals for them instead?

I would but they are a company that is only interested in money and not helping the community. They are motivated by pure greed and not community service.

So what. Put up a half million dollars for the equipment and get out there and do it for free. Or do you only want to give away the services you don't pay for?

I'll assume you slept through economics. The word "company" indicates that they're in business to make money.

Hello Gary Morris, I am glad that you are a man of many assumptions. This alone shows me how uneducated that you are. If the assumptions are not enough then the poor use of your grammar finishes the deal. In the following sentence you need to replace the word in italics with the word in bold: Most of the people that worked down there WAS WERE not given a choice whether or not they wanted to go. There are also various places that commas need to be used to break up run on sentences. By the way that you are complaining about S.E.R.T, I am going to use one of your assumption techniques and assume that you were helping with the effort. I would like to thank you for having the money, heart and passion to fund all of your cleanup efforts yourself. Thank you for having enough money to pay for all of your employee’s room and board in Texas. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I think you did none of this. I bet you were actually sitting in you air conditioned house ALONE, posting more assumptions about people that you do not know doing things that you would not do. I am also going to bet that the reason you are ALONE is partially because of the assumptions that you are in the habit of using. I would like to think the opportunity to personally thank S.E.R.T for there kind and generous efforts, and for doing what so many of us can not. Thank you again, and Gary the Norman Public Library does offer grammar books if you are interested.

All of this written about what would have been done and not been done or why don't you do it yourself. Well, I do think that the S.E.R.T. team did a good thing but at the same time let us remind ourselves that nothing was ever mentioned about the cooks and chef's (if they had them)who spent I am sure countless hours getting ready and preparing large amounts of food. Nothing was ever mentioned about all of the workers that did not go that was displaced by the closing of their Moore store to do this. The company made no attempt to help those workers

I commend all of the workers and the owners of SERT for a job well-done. Yes, the services provided for by Swadley's is not free. All the help that is provided for during times of disaster are not free, someone has to pay for them.
The cooks, chefs, and other people who were not named in the article have more than thoughts of appreciation for the hard work they put in from Labor day to the Last Thursday in Sept. They have the knowledge and memory of a job well done and of having done something to make a difference in this world. Not many people get the opportunity to do something like this. To be on the front lines and to see the results of hard work and care for others. I can only imagine the sense of satisfaction. I envy them.
I don't have information about whether the employees for the Moore store were compensated for being without a job for almost a full month or not .... I would think that if the assumption that Swadley and Co. made a lot of money on this venture are true and they had employees without jobs for a month that they would have compensated them when they returned from helping with the relief effort. It would seem only fair....but I am not one of the owner's nor am I privy to the workings of the company or to their consciences....
I do however applaud their efforts.
I wish them only the best.

One more thing... the owners worked along side the workers to make things come together. This is one company where the hard work isn't something only done by the guy in the background. All of the workers, owners included put in long days and nights. These individuals got very little sleep.

And those who love them and were separated from them during those long weeks deserve a thanks as well. I would imagine that this type of separation is hard on any relationship and would make it difficult for all who were there and those left behind to cope with a situation such as this. As you can see, there are so many people this type of effort effects, not just the ones to whom aide is being given, but the relief workers, and the families and loved ones left behind who have to find a way to cope without them. This type of thing touches so many aspects of one's life...It literally changes people. So thank you to those who loved and supported the ones on the front lines as well as the cooks and other behind the scenes workers. You are much appreciated.
