Two years ago, before the flood, I got a nasty infection on my face from scratching after I had been picking trash from the river. I did not know that septic tanks were in use along the Rio Ruidoso. Naturally, those aging septic tanks would most likely be leaching into the river. Is anybody doing toxicology testing of the river water on a periodic basis? Just wondering. Many thanks to the all-too-small staff of workers at VOR who have worked so hard to help us all.
