It is very nice to read such articles. I am sure that the Daimler made a good decision, because this is in the middle of Hungary, quite good infrastructure,(motorway, and rail), the local education is also good, so it is optimal for a such facility.
The only thing I hope that the plan will use also the local industry for the car parts.

I think not all the workers should speak a foreign laguage but from the 2.nd line managemet it is needed. I have only a little experience on this field, but what I know about the Opel factory it is the same.

well, the way i see it, upper management should speak a foreign language, even though it might be pretty hard for you magayrs, simply put, magayrs are very laborious learners of other languages. but in case, you wish to contact yours truly, i am willing to teach others.

I think most of the upper management will be german, so they'll ask for some englis as must, german as advantage colleagues. And you are right, the average hungarian does not speak a foreign language, but at the same time I think a lof of us speaks quite well english. For example our company pays the english lessons for the colleagues, and the teachers are native speakers.

Pesky,
I'm at least astonished! The guys in Kecskemét will need the german, and english languages, they really don't need a guy who's a native speaker of slovak. This is now honestly not the blaming of the slovak language or something similar, this is a fact, and everybody with common sense can see this.
But maybe the rumours are true, and you are a limey...
In that case I also really don't understand you, since there's a big-big Audi factory in Györ, very close to Bratislava. Why do you want to migrate yourself to Kecskemét, to the middle of the puszta ?

... or maybe not, because the Daimler requests for german speaking knowledge, english is not needed, as I see in the advertisements.
