What the US wants does not matter. The warring in that region between Serbs and Albanians who are the Mexicans of that region will continue.

Vukovar was hardly Serb dominated: in fact according to Wikipedia before the war:
"Vukovar still had a Croatian plurality in 1991, when Croats made up 43% of the population and Serbs 37%. Vukovar's population was ethnically mixed and had 28 nations before the war."

With regards to Kosovo, I understand the desire of the Serbs to hold onto a historical part of their history. But I can't blame the albanians for not wanting anything to do with Belgrade, given their brutal repression of them the last 20 years.
Serbia has institigated all the conflicts in the region and has lost them all. Negotiate now and see if you can salvage the historical parts of kosovo (no violence please!)

The problem about Kosovo is that Serbs were there since the start of the last millenium..we had our first state there In 1389 we lost our indenpendence in a Kosova battle that has true emotional meaning for Serbs...
500 years Serbs were part of Turkish empire ..but we won our independence in 1878 without Kosovo...Kosovo was returned to Serbia in 1912 when first time in history a country called Albania was built.. During these years Albainians came to Kosovo and by the time they became the most of the population in Kosovo...Kosovo's Albainians wanted their indipendence since 1912 but they remained a part of Serbia
During begining of '90 by the war in ex-Yugoslavia began a terroristic group of Albanians in Kosovo .Their helpers were both muslims terorist like Osama Bin Laden and US goverment..This terrosristic groups killed many Serbs during '97,'98,'99 etc.We tried to control them by our police and army which was in western press discribed as violating human rights and brought air strikes to Serbia...
Many people know today in Serbia that 90% of Kosovo's population are Albanians but we will remain to our politics that Kosovo is and allways will be a part of Serbia..In history we gave our teritories where Serbs were most like Republika Srpska, R Srpska Krajna in Croatia etc and therefor we will not gave another peace of our land again...
I belive that Kosovo will be independent by the end of year but i hope that Russians will help us and that we will not recognize this terrorist so- called state

If you really wanted to keep it, you would have taken care of it, Isn't that what one does when one wants to keep something? So either you didn't take care of it, or what your idea of care was so awfully that ordinary people(ie not serbs) couldn't stand it, So you lost it. Instead of crying about it, look to yourself, your behavior, your attitudes, make the people under your flag peaceful, prosperous and free, and just maybe more provinces won't run away. Otherwise there'll be no one left to salute that flag except the vicious, brutal, militant, hard-core russia-lovers

Stop writing such lies about Kosovo albanians. If I would start to write a book only about the crimes that my neighbors have committed it would be a thick one. Whole civilized world is supporting us, not without reason. Such attitude of the serbs from Belgrade it wont help nobody, especially not the serbs of Kosova. So stop it enough with propaganda, you lost this time, once and for good, so get over it.
And no one cares if you will recognize Kosova or not, no big deal, but don’t be so sure about it, you were forced to leave from here, and you will be forced to accept the new reality, and that is new kosovar state in your border!!!!
