Well to those of you who need them and will only go to the doctor when required there are a few great places to go that will take care of you and that are really concerned about your health. For these people that come in from LA and all over the place especially locals that bring people in by the car loads LOL those days are gone. Effective January 2012 all pharmacies ALL of them even the small mom and pop shops are now linked to DPS. They are required to run your ID on all scripts. This system will now show the pharmacist as well as YOUR DOCTOR where you have been in the last year. So no more making 3-4 trips to the doctor in a day or week. I was sitting in the pharmacy today over off Bissonnet waiting on my medication. These 3 guys walked in and turned in their ID's and told the young lady that their script was faxed over. Not even 5 minutes later 4 HPD Officers walked in and up to the window. The young lady pointed out the guys and they were arrested on the spot. The officer had a paper in his hand and informed all 3 that they had just been to the doctor on Friday and filled the same medications at a pharmacy at 9898 Bissonett which was L&B Pharmacy. And for the IDIOTS that are trying to sell on this site and giving their email addresses ARE YOU stupid. Your IP address can be traced through your email and provides your billing information and address to DPS. ARE you really that stupid. If any of you that really need the medication and want to take it as prescribed need information on a registered clinic just let me know. I am sure by now most of these druggies and drug dealers are finding out that they are getting red flagged and discharged from clinics. It is people like this that screw it up for the people that really need medication, and causes these docotrs to deny writting it to the patients that really need it.

I have searched the DPS website and elsewhere and have been unable to find any reference to the legislation or enforcement described here. I'm not saying it isn't being done, I'm just saying I cannot find the justification for it. Is this not a HIPPA violation? How would they have access to medical information without consent of the patient? Does anyone know the specifics of this situation and if in fact this is truly something that is being done? If so, I believe there are serious privacy issues and medical records management issues that need to be addressed by someone. Any insight from anyone aware of issues related to this would be very interesting... ohreally wrote: They are not looking at your medical records. But they can see what you had filled, what date it was filled, and who wrote it. Do you know who is on this program so far? I have found references to a site that is up for "testing" but is not accepting new users (I think they have like 200 I read somewhere - with something like 23 in Dallas)- the system is supposed to be active in summer 2012 from what I've read, but that would mean it is not active right now - or at least only active on a very limited basis. Do you know specifics other than this? I'm not being argumentative, just trying to find the real facts of the situation as I really need to figure a way to fill an rx a couple weeks earlier than I'm going to be able to return to my prior physician. This should only be a one-time situation, but it is a necessity this time around. Thanks for any insight you might have...

Does anyone know which pharmacies are and are not using the new online database. The system is supposed to be fully operational sometime after summer of 2012 but is right now only operational on a limited "test" basis. The system will not even accept new "users" as they have maxed out their "test" members database access.
I have a pain RX that I need to have replaced with something different but similar and do not want to have a problem with pharmacies cross-checking and determining there is an issue. There really should not be as I'm not trying to fill exactly the same RX nor is it for the same strength, nor should the pharmacy be determining dosage requirements - but I've heard it can be an issue. In fact I read somewhere on here about a user witnessing 3 guys being arrested at a pharmacy while waiting on their prescriptions to be filled - I don't know the details but that sounds absurd if it's true.
Any insight would be appreciated greatly !

Any insight would be appreciated greatly ! TMP in Tomball is using it. It would be interesting to know what other pharmacies are using it as of now.

I do not know what pharmacies. I am pretty sure CVS and the big ones are not atm but not 100% sure. I found out by going with someone who was going to multiple pain clinics. When they asked for his License they put his number into the computer and then showed him all the Rx's he had filled, where he had them filled, and who wrote the Rx. They then informed him they would no longer see him at the location. Word on the street from other people have told me the same thing has happened to them. As far as different meds i think most pharmacies will fill it as long as it is a different milligram and you do not continually do it.

That sucks but do you know how many and which places he was going - definitely don't want to end up with any sort of an issue. I have had a dr write for rx at the Er and then have been to a clinic - and that's just recently. My problem flares up and is a bear to deal with for a couple of months or so and then typically gets better for a while... sometimes a while is months and it has been as long as a couple years before recurring - but it always comes back with a vengeance...
