I can't wait to leave. Grew up here, and it wasn't quite so bad in the 90s, but now it's just unbearable.

Other than the job market, there's not much here for young people. Unless all you like doing is going to church and/or bars then pay for expensive cabs home or risk driving drink in traffic that's already nuts anyway.

You should come to Del Rio Texas. Here having a kid is part of school and everyone here is fat. The drainage system is from the 1800's and if it rains more than two inches we are all under water.

EVERYTHING sucks in Houston! The air quality is impacted by broken sewer lines virtually everywhere. The segregated white supremacist rich a-hole snobs aloofly stay in their prescribed turf while the dregs are delegated to the lower end of the socioeconomic and racial spectrum. The biggest talk show idiot on AM is a white supremacist to the hilt despite being an inbred mental midget himself (Michael "psycho" Berry). Corruption is obviously rampant here, and in the grocery stores virtually all the. Food sucks unless you pay Malibu-style prices at the posh places on the west side, whether it be restaurants or groceries. Raving maniac drivers utterly hell-bent on zooming across multiple lanes and cutting off the more cautious ones are pretty much the standard of the day. This is without a doubt one of the most frustrating, horrific, torturous collections of humanity on the face of the earth; for I dare not associate it with the label: "civilization." This puke hole is undoubtedly a good example of the worst civilization has to offer.

yeah this city has no personality.. People fucking drive all on your tail and your doing 30 over the speed limit and they still driving up behind you like your going only 20 mph.. Everyone wants to race you at a red light...Oh yeah people also honk at you if you don't want to pull out into a busy intersection, with 15 cars coming both ways. No one has any respect for anyone one, no thank you's when holding a door. There is a deadly crime every 5 minutes from banks being robbed, home invasions with shootings, and people just killing cuz they want what someone has worked hard for, loke their car or ugly ass rims. I guess for some apparent reason they can't get a job and work hard like the person they are stealing from. Oh and you move here to persue a criminal career, HPD won't get to the scene fast enough anyway. I could go on forever. Like the person said above be prepared to be stressed and always looking over your shoulder 24/7 if not you will end up a victim of some type of crime. I will definitely be escaping this place soon after my schooling is finished, if not I'm gonna end up dying from being stressed out about all the bullshit stated above.

Houston sucks like no other place I know. And the worst thing is that locals say they love it. Ignorance would be too kind. Many are plan dumb. Houston has no soul, and no amount of strip-mall restaurants and fake smiles can make up for that. Get me out while I still know what a life is.

People who shit on Detroit and Cleveland have never been to Houston. If Cleveland is the armpit of our great nation, Houston is the anus. It may be a great place to live but it's the most boring city I've ever visited. Transit is beyond pathetic, the downtown is a ghost town, and there is no amusement park. At least Detroit and Cleveland have vibrant nightlifes and Cedar Point (the best amusement park in the world). I went to a Rockets game and you'd think it was a division II women's volleyball game. There couldn't have been 5,000 people there. You seriously don't deserve pro sports teams. I've been to hundreds of NBA games and have never seen a worse crowd in my life. There are no bars whatsoever around the stadium and the ones we found blocks away from the stadium closed at midnight. It's a true shame that it's the 4th largest city in the US. Complete shit hole.

Unless a person goes to the amusement park everyday, there is NO reason whatsover not to choose a city just because it lacked an amusement park nearby. How stupid are people anymore? I care about more important things like economics, jobs, job stability, housing, income-cost of living ratio, and various ammenities. Amusement parks. Are you kidding me? Are like 5 years old or something?

houston did have an amusement park,itwasent amusing.(pun intended) There used tobea 6flags here I visited it when I was a kid,it was sodirty and grimy and the people who worked there sucked.Not tomention all the grafitti.Houston sucks becauseit has a lack luster lifestyle everyonekeeps to theirselves or totheir own kind.I miss Austin!

Houston is almost the furthest from ghetto. Buffalo and Detroit are full shitholes. Dallas is horrible. Atlanta is ghetto however it's bearable. All of California= SHITHOLE FULL OF UNEDUCATED MORONS.

Also Cleveland = shithole. New Orleans is a horror movie. Also more than half of the nation's cities with bad economies. If you don't like here in Houston then you can move to a racist shithole segregation town like Buffalo.

It's a decent part of town. Lots of Hispanic influence in the area. Some parts of east Houston is really rough, but areas like the East End makes it interesting. Also you have the Port of Houston in that side of town. The area surrounding the port is basically a ghostown.
