I'm from Houston and I agree. This city has no personality.

www.ridemetro.org - Admittedly it could be greatly expanded (and there are plans to do so over the next ten years). I've never understood the hate for Houston. Honestly, I think Dallas is everything people accuse Houston of being (other than humid). What a s***hole that place is...

Houston sucks because it has no amusement park, that has to be the first for that complaint. As far as mass transit goes who cares its a waiste of money.Thats what they make cars for.

Having a mass transit system for over four million residents that relies mostly on buses competing with private autos and commercial trucks on the roadways is assinine. Who the hell needs an amusement park?

Amusement parks, well we have a water park in houston, and we have a large schliterbaugh (sp) in Galveston. We have NFL,MLB,NBA,MLS teams in the city to keep you entertained, shopping is near, camping is near too just a few hours away... The weather does suck, but there are other reasons people live in houston. I think they are much more important...its called corporate jobs in the energy sector/oil and gas. Traffic is secondary to having food on the table, this is coming from someone who grew up in indiana.

The rest of the year it's not so bad...

Houston was one of the best cities in the USA still is compared to most the other cities. If we could get rid of all the riff raff in this city it could be great again. We have way to many useless thieves, killers, illegals gang punks, and lazy azz punks that don't want to work.We need a private civillian police force, privately funded to clean this city up.I'm talking about hard core inforcement folks,we need to be exempt from the city operated judicial system they are way to soft. Our police do an excellent job arresting these scumbags on a daily basis. One big problem!!! The court system turns most of them loose on the streets the next day lol.

Houston blows....I moved here for a job and can't wait till I can get transferred out of this hellhole. Boring and ugly are two words to describe this place. Low brow people, uneducated, it's cheap for a reason. The only people who talk and actually like Houston are the people who live here. The rest of America doesn't even know it exists. The 4th largest city in the country and no one cares....Please Lord, get me out of here. My friends and family come once and they never want to come back and visit me.

I was born and raised in Houston and I've been trying to escape this city since I was eight. When I went to San Francisco at 15, I tried like hell not to come back, but I was sucked right back into this hellhole. Now I have the chance to move to Wisconsin and I'm going to try like hell to get there. Seems Houston just won't let me go. I'm one of the few living here that actually likes cold weather not just the cold fronts we get that represent our "winter". This city blows big time. I hate it and the majority of the asses that live here.

It's a sh@tHOLE for sure. I wish I lived somewhere else but it's hard to start over and leave your friends and family behind for good. Yet, I'm still thinking about doing just that..

I agree with you Sian. I hated this city since I was growing up & can't wait to go to Austin. I tried hard to find a job, can't never afford a car cause most of the sluts & these rednecks have the most better paying jobs when they are lying on the resumes and public transit is a joke of danger. The education is BS, the apartments are not that affordable as people think, the food is high, gas is high, it's all smoking mirror! Growing up, I dealt with rude, racist people & perverts. There soooo many sex-offenders living in the hood you have to watch your back, which by the way they are living in white flight areas, not the bourgsie surbaran . I did nothing to you & you bother me to death! The city of Houston are a bunch crooks charging too darn much off of my paycheck for their stupid failure projects & constructions! I mean 16 counties, confusion over the name Harris County- is it Houston, Missouri City/Fort Bend County, Sugarland, or Pearland. What is it? Austin only have's 5 counties with different names, no confusion!

You can hardly park your car in Houston without someone asking for "a dolla". Then they want to call you a racist and kick your ass if you refuse!

I moved to Houston in 83 and have enjoyed living here but it has changed alot and not for the best. Too much crime no mass transit to speak of and it's getting worse with wasted $$ on light rail that goes nowhere. Used to be inside the 610 loop was bad, now inside beltway 8 is bad and dangerous. I only stay here because of my job.

Anyplace where someone MIGHT have some money is where you'll have an encounter like this -- post office, supermarket, barber shop. Hell, they even COME INSIDE to ask for money or cigarettes and the shop people say nothing. Houston needs an aggressive panhandling ordinance, like San Francisco. But an ordinance is useless if HPD can't or won't enforce it.

Bob Loblah has accepted being called a Redneck, but Bob Loblah makes $400,000+ a year in the Oil & Gas industry and has been in the business 42 years and worked and lived in 23 countries. No need for Bob Loblah to lie on Bob Loblah's resume. Once again, you squirm in your own schidt because you made your own bed and now you have to lay in it. Nobody's fault but your own. You sound like a pretty unhappy person and like to put all the blame for your misery on someone else. God bless Houston. God bless Presidene George W. Bush ps:....and da hell with you toooooooooooooooo. Bob Loblah rules. Bob Loblah
